HaliCarnassus, the Carnation Seneschal

As he rose from the ground, Midnight couldn't help but stare at the figure in front of him. He was familiar with the idea of a succubus. The info he had been shown said that Halicarnassus was a grand succubus. What it, and even the picture of her had failed to do was show her absolute beauty. Wreathed in fire, she eyed your figure with a ravenous hunger and regal beauty. No wonder she was the leader among her own kind.

With a shake of your head, you try to clear your head, although it takes significant effort.

"I was looking for the Commander of this army. I guess its only fair to assume its you, the Carnation Senechal."

She looked at Midnight with curiosity.

"Strange, normally my passive powers alone would have had you on the floor worshipping my boots. Which means you must be a very unique and powerful shadow."

"That's one way of putting it." Even as he spoke, Midnight could feel that nagging thought in the back of his mind, reminding him how beautiful she was. "Fortunately i received a gift from a mutual friend of ours thatallows me to resist."

"Oh?" She put a finger playfully up to her chin as she swayed her way over. "What friend is that?" As she advanced on him, Midnight noticed she had a long slender tail that flicked side to side as she walked. As she stood in front of him, she reached out a hand and ran it across his chest. Even in his shadow form, he felt like bolts of electricity were crisscrossing his form. Shit, he was losing it. Focus Midnight, this wasnt the time.

As he focused, he felt the feelings get pushed to the background and he stood up straighter. "Carnachias." As he said the name, she took a step back and reassessed. "So...you are the champion of darkness we were supposed to be expecting? A shadow demon?"

"Thats me. Im Midnight"

"Well Midnight we were told you would be coming 3 days ago directly from the Dark Realm."

"There were complications I had to take care of."

"Complications? Let me explain something to you. Nearly a quarter of my army is dead or wounded. This battle was to take place to decide the fate of my territory and we were supposed to have you to back us up. You. Werent. Here. And people died. So what was this complication that cost the lives of so many of my people?"

Well shit. The last thing he had ever expected was that his absence would be so critical. He reached into his hud inventory, pulled out the sword and stabbed it in the dirt. "I ran into Ariel."

Suddenly, the anger and frustration in her eyes is gone as she eyes the sword. "You encountered the Lion of Heaven? What happened? How did you get the sword?"

"To make a long story short, I turned him into a battery to power the forest. He will never escape and he will spend his entire life in torment." She looked at him with awe as he spoke. Ariel must have really been an enemy of the dark.

"Well than maybe something good has come of all this. Personally, I'd love to hear the long version. And maybe we can check out this immunity of yours as well hmmn? I am excellent company even without aphrodisiacs.

He paused for a moment as she put on her best puppy dog face before holding up a hand.

"Please dont get me wrong. I would love to spend more time with you and I can think of so many ways we could spend the time." He looked her up and down and she definitely noticed how excited his tentacles were about the prospect. But shouldnt we discuss what to do about your troops and the castle?"

She looked at him curiously. "Whats to discuss. We failed. Tomorrow I'll pull my army back over into my territory, gather what we can, and make a break for it."

"I dont understand. All because you failed to take this castle? Whats so special?"

She shook her head. "Midnight, its not the castle itself that we need to destroy. Its the forces of light housed there. But unfortunately, Ariels little stunt screwed us and we are out of time. One of the heroes is arriving tomorrow."
