Haircut and Movie

"So what is this, 'it will be fun' thing we'll be doing?" I ask Cindy.

"We're going to start with a haircut"

"Cindy!"

"What!? You said it was my job to that" Cindy retorts back

"Fine" I respond back reserving myself to my fate.

We moved over to the kitchen, Cindy grabbing me a chair to sit on. It wasn't that Cindy was bad at cutting hair, far from it actually, she did all our hair. It was one of those things that came from us wanting to save money, plus I think Cindy genuinely enjoys it from how focused she gets and the smile she always has when she's done. It all started when we were younger and Claire got a bad haircut and was so upset she cried for hours, eventually Cindy offered to try and fix it and while it was her first time cutting hair, it ended up pretty good all things considered. From then on Cindy always cut our hair, we even splurged one Christmas and bought her a professional set of things. It took Cindy a hot minute to get my hair just right, I had a lot of it. But even I couldn't deny the end result looked good. It was at a medium length, with a side part and it complimented my face perfectly.

"What do you think?" Cindy asks with doe eyes indicating that she really cares what I thought.

"It's wonderful" I say still looking at my hair.

"You're just saying that"

"No... Really... Cindy, it's perfect"

"Really?" She asks again unsure

"Really." I say back assuring her of the good job which was then followed by possibly the tightest hug Cindy could ever good give.

"Thank you, little brother"

"What do you mean?"

"I just really needed to hear that."

After that Cindy and I decided that we didn't really want to leave the house, so we decided to watch a movie in her room. Setting up her laptop at the end of the bed we decided on a horror movie, feeling that everything else was too cheesy. Laying down Cindy cuddles me as the movie gets started. We don't talk much and enjoy the movie, every so often there's a gasp and Cindy holds me tighter but the movie goes by pretty quickly. So we decided to watch another one, and after a while I feel myself pass out.
