Try to psych Josh out with more trash talk?
Ha! As if I'd lose to a Jigglypuff.
“Look, you might be better than me, I admit that, but there’s no way you can beat me with a character like Jigglypuff, especially not when I have five lives to your one,” I said.
I just had to keep trash talking. As I said earlier, I was such an idiot.
Josh glared at me angrily. I was getting to him. I had pushed his buttons. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. I was trying to mess with his confidence. Again, it was a classic strategy that I'd employed against many lesser opponents. But rather than striking a chink in his armor of confidence, I think I had only pissed him off even more.
“Okay, miss professional Smash player, let’s up the stakes then. If you can win this match, I’ll give you $2,000. But if you lose, you’re going home naked,” Josh quipped back.
