The next week, he went with Jayleen to the DTC where she volunteered. It seemed like it had been a hospital of some kind before the virus. Now it was apparently dedicated entirely to treating Libido Derangement Syndrome.

They were met at the entrance by Dr Adams.

"You can call me Ellie," she told him, "thank you so much for coming in. We always have a problem finding male volunteers. They always have so many other activities distracting them."

She pointed to the left of the building entrance. There was a very heavy looking metal door with a keypad beside it. "The underage ward is highly secure. No men are allowed to visit and we're also very selective about the women who can work there." She gave Jayleen an accusing look.

Jayleen sighed, "yeah, yeah. I'll get 'em in a few years."

She led the two of them down a hallway to the right.

As they walked, the doctor asked, "do you mind if we use your presence for a quick diagnosis? We've been wanting to do a visual exposure test with one of our patients."

Seeing the confused look on his face, she assured him, "we just need her to see a man through a locked door. It can be difficult to predict a patient's reaction without a real male encounter."

Not seeing any other polite choice, he responded, "um, okay."

She led him to one of the many doors down the hallway and guided him to stand in front of the window. He looked in to see another doctor and a girl that looked maybe 20 years old.

The moment he appeared in front of the window, the girl's eyes locked onto David. She leapt out of her chair and lunged toward the door, throwing her body against it.

The doctor in the room yelled, "Maddy!"

As David jolted back from the door, he heard, "cock! Come here, cock!" The door violently rattled as the girl tried to get to David. "What hole do you want, cock? They're all yours!" The door banged again.

"Shit," Ellie muttered. She quickly started to lead David away.

A fist pounded on the door as they turned the corner.

The doctor stopped at an intercom in the hallway and pressed a button, "can you send a intervention team to Beth in 109? Her patient responded badly to a visual exposure."

Jayleen asked sadly, "that was Maddy?" She sighed, "I thought she was doing better lately."

David asked cautiously, "stage four out of...?"

"Five," the doctor answered. "Stage five cases are typically housed in the secure wing for everyone's safety." In the distance, he heard a fist still pounding on the door he had just looked through.

As the adrenaline started to work its way out of David's system, he started to wonder what he had volunteered for.

Ellie sensed his anxiety, "perhaps you'd like to observe one of our sessions with a female volunteer?"

His apprehension turned to confusion, which he was more accustomed to. She sensed this as well, "we have observation rooms. It might be instructive for you to see Jayleen dealing with one of our patients."

Unsure, he looked at Jayleen, who did her best to reassure him, "I do a hell of a job with these girls. You'll like the show."

The doctor explained more clearly, "the patients find that sessions with our volunteers both help with their anxiety levels during their recovery, and prepare them for the real male encounters. Our volunteers," she looked at Jayleen, "provide a highly gratifying encounters."

"Damn right we do," she agreed.
