Go out with me

"Simple." Dennis said. "I want you to go out with me."

"WHAT?!" Lauren balked, laughing in shock.

Dennis's smug grin turned bitter for a moment.

"You hear me." Dennis said. "Unless you become my girlfriend, and tell everyone about it, I'm going to show the dean your fraud, and we'll see if he wants to get the police involved..."

"NO!" Lauren immediately stopped laughing, terrified again. He was clearly serious. "Don't do that! But... date you? What do you mean by that?"

"Oh, just to raise my reputation out of the gutter, after you've put me down for years." Dennis explained. "And, to have some fun..."

Lauren wanted to say no. She wanted to yell at him and storm away. But, she really had no choice. He had her over a barrel and they both knew it.

"...Fine..." She said through gritted teeth...
