(Maria PoV)

I lead the boss’ daughter to the break room where the coffee machine is. I can tell John was going to say something that would get her upset. And when she’s upset it’s more work for me.

Mr. Newman may have raised a brat. A beautiful brat, but a brat nonetheless. She needs some guidance to turn her pouts into something real. I can tell that someone at school is bothering her.

“Cotton. Cotton. My dear, beautiful girl, what am I going to do with you?” I fix her hair and straighten her blouse. “What’s gotten you so upset that you come in here like a storm?”

She tries to pull away, so I pull her into an embrace. “Is it your teachers?”

She scoffs a negative.

“Some boy?”

A derisive snort.

“Thought so. It must be some jealous bitches?”

She gasps at my choice of words and pulls away giving me a surprised look. She didn’t expect me to understand.

“Don’t act all shocked. Miss Maria knows all about bitches being jealous. I mean look at me.” I step back and twirl, showing her my, recently, hot body. I can tell by the look in her eye, she's feeling the bite of jealousy as well. I need to pull her in.

“They know that beautiful girls like us are better then them so they try to tear us down.” Her face changed from jealous back to surprised.

Again Cotton scoffs. "She's fit, but there's a reason the team hasn't got to Nationals under her. My high school won Nationals last year."

Now I pause with a confused look on my face until Cotton gets nervous.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Is this 'captain' better connected then you?"

"Of course not!" Good she's getting a bit heated.

"Then sweetie, I'm confused why she's causing you all this grief when you could, well, you know."

"I could what?"

"You could crush her." Cotton's jaw hit the floor. "She deserves it, right? You work harder than her. You're more beautiful than her. You're better than her. So crush her."

"Miss Maria! I thought you would say some kumbaya nonsense." She's shaking her head her smile betrays her pleasure at my answer. "I didn't expect you to be this aggressive."

I lift her chin to look me in the eyes. "Cotton, sweetie. High school Cotton had life handed to her. College Cotton, Adult Cotton, shows that she deserves everything she is has. You deserve to be Captain, right?"

"I deserve it more than that bitch." There’s fire in her eyes. Good.

“Then you have to choose, will you be a petty bitch stuck in past glory. Or will you be a boss bitch who gets what she wants from her future.”

The coffees are done, so I hand her a steaming mug. "Come with me. We'll work on a plan to make everyone know how great you are."

I take her to the study room next to Rita and friends. Then she asks me about her book. I'm surprised this girl could find a book in a library, but she seems interested in learning how to earn her power.

I tell her the way I know best, train hard and simply be better than them. I know my Coach I perk can give her an edge, so we talk a bit about a training plan. Cotton will join my afternoon workouts.

During our discussion I hear the Life Quest notification chime from Cotton's phone. I wonder how long that's been going on for her? Has she always been privileged and beautiful, or is she reaping quest rewards? Either way, the girl has a bright future ahead of her and having her on my side will make life easier at her father’s library.

"Cotton. One more thing before I go."

"Yes, Miss Maria?"

"As a woman, you have a carrot and a stick to get boys to do things." She looks confused. "You can be direct and demanding, or you can be sweet and convincing.” I adjust her blouse so her cleavage is properly displayed. (John PoV)

I'm still suffering after this morning's exercise, but it's not as bad as yesterday when I couldn't move. Maria still lets me spend most of the day at the desk.

I'm noticing a theme in the store. Emotional and Financial perks are more expensive, but generally one time purchases. The sexual purchases are cheaper, but can be purchased multiple times to compound their effects.

It seems pretty clear what Maria wants. Stamina is important to the MILF Gym Bunny. She has made several comments about me needing to bulk up. As tempting as the instant mass is, Maria made it clear she likes seeing me work for my gains.

After lunch the day continues to be busy. I see Rita come in with some class mates as I am helping another student with an order. I'll have to go talk to her later.

Time passes while work continues, and wouldn't you know it, here comes Cotton. I have no patience to put up with her today. (Rita's PoV)

I guess that means I've studied enough. It has been a couple of hours. The girls are ready to go, so I tell them good night. We gather our things and get up to leave. My heart starts racing. It's time to talk to John. I pull out my phone on selfie cam to check my makeup and my outfit. Hair bow, ribbon tie, cuffs, socks. Everything is perfect.

Okay ready to-

"Hey Rita! Do you have a minute?" John steps into the room.

Melt. I'm ready to melt. Why is his voice so sexy? "Hey John. Nice to see you here." Why am I so lame?

"I'm glad you're okay. I was worried about you."

“Rita, love.” Melting! I think my legs are melting! “I have to get back to work. Can we meet for dinner tonight?”

I don’t trust my voice so I nod. He steps back.

“Can I have dinner with Rita? No characters?”

I try to look him in the eye. Doesn’t he know how hard that will be? He helps by holding up my chin. I can handle his intense eyes, so I close mine and nod again.

“My treat. I’ll come by your dorm after work. And we’ll go to this Mexican place nearby. It’s Taco Tuesday.”

I love tacos! I smile and try my voice. “It’s a date.” I hope he heard me.

“It’s a date.” My heart stopped.

Author’s Note: Sup folks! It’s been a whirlwind writing these first chapters. Thanks for your positive comments. I hope you like where I’m taking the characters.

I'm trying to have the classes and perks picks have unexpected effects on the characters attitudes. Certain perks like Empathy and Motherly are more dynamic, so expect different expression with different situations.

Also, perks like Pokerface will be different described from the inside, where it amplifies feelings, versus from the outside, where others can't read what's going on.

I’m working to have reasonable constructive tension between the harem girls that push everyone to work to resolve.

I’m trying to slow down new perks and explore what perks they already have. I’m hoping to get Matt transgendered and the three harem girls to meet together before slowing down the update pace. We’ll see.
