Chapter 7 by Roseidurian Roseidurian

What's next?

Getting to know the girls

Mia walked quickly to the side of the room, feeling the eyes settle on her as she returned from her win. She felt her cheeks warm, and she walked quickly to the wall, not finding it all that much less embarrassing to only have people see her from the one side. She looked around defensively, arm tightening over her boobs and squishing back on them slightly as eyes stayed focused on her.

She sidestepped to the area to sit down. She could do with a break after that.

After a moment, she looked around. The blonde she'd seen at the start seemed to be wrapping up with the punching bag, while other women were dotted around the room, most slowly going back to what they were doing. One was doing red-faced stretches, others sparring, most looking for some kind of distraction from their nudity.

Zoe walked up to her after a minute, still looking tired.

"Appreciate it," she said.

"Huh?" Mia said.

"You know, the pay-out," Zoe said. "You've got your regular pay-out for winning, and then the top dollar for winning 'entertainingly.' Most newbies only seem to be in it for the cash."

"I just wanted to get it over with," Mia said. She hesitated. "Not that I'm going to lose but... entertainingly?"

"All-girl, all-naked fight club," Zoe said. "You can probably guess. No set rule for what it has to be, but it's always humiliating. I hate losing."

Mia swallowed. Yep, that was another incentive to really make sure her lessons paid off. Make sure she didn't lose to anyone that fancied a bit more cash, and get reputation enough to work in the clothed clubs.

"Why do you come back here if it's that bad?" Mia said.

"Training," Zoe said. She hesitated. "Keep an eye out on a few people. And cash. Vigilante's not the best job."

"I've heard that," Mia snorted. Of course she'd beat up a vigilante on her first try.

"Anyway, first rule of naked fight club is not to talk about naked fight club," Zoe said. "If we ever meet around out there, let's pretend this just never happened. Deal?"

"Deal," Mia said gladly.

They didn't shake on it, arms already in use. Mia breathed a sigh of relief. At least it didn't seem like she'd made an enemy, and she was vaguely more prepared for the future.

The worst part of the fight had been the shock, not knowing how to both keep any sense of modesty and defend herself. She'd had to give up on one. She knew that now, hopefully she could psyche herself up enough and make herself do it next time.

Hopefully.

A few seconds later, and the blonde approached her. Her cheeks were pink both from her work-out and her exposure. She stood more casually, though it seemed to be more out of an effort to make herself adjust than actually being used to nudity. Mia shifted, awkwardly adjusting her arm and her legs.

"Nice moves," the blonde said. "Don't tell me Black Star's your actual name."

"Mia," she said after a moment. "You?"

"Sara," she said. "Just Mia?"

"Mia Smoak," she said, then regretted it at the look that crossed Sara's face.

Shit, her mom's name probably would be recognised by a few people. Lesson learned. Though the woman's bemused grin wasn't what she'd expected.

"Smoak huh?" she said. "Let me guess, Oliver and Felicity's kid?"

"Er... you know them?" Mia said nervously.

"Could say that," Sara said. She chuckled. "I'm going to be a bit insulted if they never mentioned me. Sara Lance. Time traveller. Ring any bells?"

Mia blinked. She'd heard a few stories, and Nyssa had definitely mentioned...

Mia squeaked, clutching onto herself even more tighter. She squeezed her boobs back against her chest, not even thinking about how that made them look. Sara chuckled.

"So, yeah," she said.

"Why are you here?!"

"Time-displaced Julie d'Aubigny," Sara said. She shrugged. "My life is weird. Meant to be tracking down anomalies and rumour said fight clubs, so of course I got volunteered for... this."

Mia stared. Sara eyed her, looking her up and down enough to make Mia redden even more.

"Not bad," Sara said.

"What?"

"Okay, full disclosure," Sara said. "Banged your dad. Had a bit of a thing for your mom. You're hot, I'm not blind."

Mia blushed.

"I'm going to describe this totally out of context when I get back home," Sara said. "Gonna piss them off. Hope you don't mind."

"Can you not make this more awkward?" Mia said.

"I'll try, it's not easy for me," Sara said. "Good luck with whatever you're doing."

"Y-you too," Mia said.

Mia swallowed. She was meant to be getting away from people who knew her by coming to Star City, that was half of what made the naked fight club anything approaching bearable. Being recognized was not helping matters.

So long as things didn't get any more awkward.

She just hoped she didn't end up against Sara. She was confident enough in beating most of the people there, but someone else trained by Nyssa was worrying. She did not want to lose given what the stakes apparently sometimes were.
