Getting In

I had no idea what got us straight into the club, whether it was being foreigners or by the look on the bouncer’s face his immediate infatuation with Teyla, but once inside there was no doubt in my mind. We entered to the typical club scene of any North American club, the buzz of multiple chats trying to be overheard of a pulse pounding music. Heads turned towards us as we were shown to a booth just off the dance floor and a lot of chatting stopped when Teyla took off her coat and revealed herself.

She was in a dress that if I didn’t know better, I would have sworn was spray painted on, it was that tight.I swear there wasn’t a pair of eyes that wasn’t focused in on Teyla. Christ I understood that she felt uncomfortable with all the attention on her but as the french say, c’est la guerre. It also gave me one hell of an idea on how to get even for the slap!

“Teyla, care to dance?”

I don’t know what was more comical, the look in her eyes or how she reached across the booth and gripped my arm. “God Teyla, relax I only asked you to dance, not do the “Mattress Mumba” with me!” Although given how she looked tonight that was such a bad idea.

“You have to understand, I don’t walk very well in heels and I have never learnt anything about dancing!”

I just smiled at her, “Well just take it as part of your research and get over it babe!”

I got up and basically dragged Teyla to the dance floor. “For what it’s worth, I’m not much of a dancer either, so just watch those around you and copy what they do to the beat of the music!” Then I started to gyrate as if stretching my hip flexors.

That was when the first of what looked like a whole group of guys all got the same idea. One by one they came up and cut in on me and Teyla. At first, I hemmed and hawed at the first couple of guys but when the third cut in, I just looked at Teyla and said, “Take it your card is filled for the night!” and walked back to the table, with an evil grin on my face.
