"Okay. Sorry we made you come down here," you apologize a little sheepishly.
"Shit, don't worry about, Girl. Just doing my job. Besides, I got to meet you. Word is we might be working together a lot in the future," Rochelle says conspiratorially.
"Rochelle," Greg says a little tensely, the first time you had heard him take that tone with this woman he otherwise seems very deferential to.
Rochelle grits her teeth and curses. "Sorry, motormouth runs away with me. I'm gonna go ahead and check in with Miles." Rochelle quickly makes her way out of the room.
You look at Greg confused. "What was that about?" "You asks as you start picking up your clothes.
"Some things Jackie wants to talk to you about, but not until we're all there," Greg answers a little vaguely, getting dressed himself. "Sorry. You know how much my wife likes grand presentations."
"Grand presentation?" Shit, how important was this trip?
Now it was Greg's turn to wince. "Suzy, I promise this is a good thing, and the secrecy will be worth it."
You give him a questioning look, but then nod. You could use some good news.
"So, is your relationship with Ms. Easton "entirely professional?" You question with a playful smirk. "I've never heard anyone, even your actual wife, talk to you like that."
Greg laughs, grateful for the topic switch. "Rochelle's amazing. She's going to be a big player in the company for years to come."
You give him a "you're avoiding the question" look.
"Jackie and I swing a lot, but even among the women I've been with, Rochelle's something special," he admits with a soft smile.
"You're clearly fond of her," you say, snapping your bra on as you talk. "Does that make Jackie jealous? I know you're both open, but what about you feeling something other than lust for another person?"
He shakes his head. "I respect Rochelle a great deal. I respect you a great deal. But, with respect, I don't love either of you. That's the key." He gives you a look. "Still thinking about Dave?"
You nod. "Yeah."
"I know this may sound empty, but I have a strong feeling you two will be fine," Greg says with an odd kind of confidence.
You didn't know the basis for that confidence, but it did make you feel a little better.
