Chapter 1169 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Gather intel.

"Fear not, Demon King!" calls a voice from above. A mysterious figure appears! Shrouded the shadow of the newly attached Shard of Draconax, a petite girl leaps from the edge of the roof and flips several times before landing skillfully beside the group. Lynx the Spymaster poses on one knee, with a hand up dramatically to the side--eyes concealed by the hood of her cloak. She glances up with a spark in her uncovered eye. "I, your beautiful mistress of spies, has made her appearance just in the nick of time. I've been learning all I can about the Vraelion family, and because of your wondrous ability to teleport the party, we should be able to take advantage of something."

"Were you up there listening the whole time, just waiting?" you ask.

She then stands. With hands planted firmly on her hips, she gives you a wide smile. "You see, Lord Vraelion is waiting for a certain new contact. One he knows of not the appearance. If you all can make it there first, you can pose as this contact, just long enough to get to Malakae."

"It's not perfect," Eva comments. "But I think we oughta try it. And if that doesn't work, we'll just break in!"

"All right then. Good job, Lynx. What can you tell us about this contact?" you ask.

"Well, Lord Vraelion is hosting a ball one week from today, which happens often. Though for this one, he's reached out to hire a small group of beautiful dancers. The contact's name is Godwin Griffiths, a wealthy entrepreneur from the southwest. Not only is he a rich and successful businessman, but the girls he's bringing are apparently stunning, and some of the best entertainers around in that region. It's unlikely that Lord Vraelion himself cares much for the details of this exchange. So if you can at least convince whoever answers the door that you, Kyle, are Mr. Griffiths, and the rest of you are his dancers, you're in."

"Worst case scenario, everyone jump on and I'll get us right out," you add. "Well, that sounds like a plan to me. It's better than none. But we can't just show up looking like how we are then, right? Do you have any intel on what they look like?"

She withdraws a small note from her shorts pocket. "A little. Hopefully enough."

You then glance afar. "Luna was just nearby. Let's flag her down. Maybe she'll have something made already that can help us."

"We get to wear costumes?!" Jelly looks to you with the utmost excitement in her eyes. Then before awaiting an answer, she starts running towards the direction you both last saw the seamstress moth. "Luna, Luna!" she calls out.

Niki looks down over her body and taps her breastplate with a finger. "I'd really rather wear my armour."

"Do not worry, Niki. You will look lovely in anything," says Amara with a kind smile.

"H-Hey. You don't need to praise me like that," she replies with blush in her cheeks.

"We better catch up." You look to Lynx once more. "How long do we have?"

"They're meant to arrive in Tolis tomorrow," Lynx replies. "So if you can get there today, you won't run into them. Everyone will hopefully assume you simply got there a little early, and that'll be enough to speak with Malakae and maybe get her out."

"All right then. Come on. Let's see what we can pull off this time."
