How is Fuu faring?

Fuu is Ready

Chapter 21 by Djinn-Drinka Djinn-Drinka

Fuu centered herself, slipping barely out of the way of one leaping Gnoll. She took a deep breath, focused on her failure, her guilt, and her despair, and breathed it out. Fuu bent low at the waste as a Gnoll leaped over her. She took the cries of her friends, as they panted, moaned, and begged for more, and pushed it too the background.

Fuu had her training, her anchor that kept her calm and unreadable most of the time. She was the serene monk that would bend with the blows and never break. Her training told her to breathe out all of her rage, to not be blinded by such base emotions.

In this instance, Fuu refused. She focused on her anger, and the creature that stoked it. Hovering inches from the ground hung her blade, kept in a tight grip as Fuu danced. Fuu focused her energy, her gift, into the blade and struck hard into the next Gnoll, piercing it straight through the heart.

The divine energies pulsed through the blade and shot the body off of her staff. Fuu, taking no time for any pleasant emotion like pride or joy at dispatching an enemy, used the force to twirl her blade up.

The blade caught the second Gnoll at the neck, tossing the head off into the distance as the body tumbled into a heap. Fuu faced the Chieftain now, eyes locked with the massive beast. Fuu felt her rage build as she entered a fighting stance. She would kill it. She would slaughter every single one of them and wipe their stain from these lands.
