What's the club like?

Future Lisa runs into Jake before the club

Chapter 6 by street0 street0

Lisa walks outside into the golden light of the evening sun. Her unbuttoned white blouse turns sheer in the sunlight, revealing more of her lacy black bra. She covers her eyes to adjust to the glare.

Her younger self is nowhere to be seen, but moments later something stops her. Jake pulls up to the curb in a red convertible. His buff arm hangs over the door and the sun makes the hint of silver flecks in his hair glow. This is the man that past Lisa just dumped over the phone. Safety, security, support, good advice, all dumped. But future Lisa is her to fix her mistakes, to unfuck her life. Jake looks at her and smiles just like she remembers it. Her heart skips a beat.

"Hey Lisa, I'm glad I caught you," Jake says, not realizing he's talking to Lisa's future self. "Listen, I don't want to boss you around. I'm sorry I'm coming off that way. I just think you're really smart. I don't want to lose you, but really I just want you to take care of yourself too. Partying every night is living life on expert difficulty."

There's something to the timbre of Jake's voice that's really soothing for Lisa. She's missed this man, his arms. She wants to go slap some sense into her past self at The Ecstasy or wherever she went, but the guy she really wants is here now. Perhaps there is more than one way to unfuck her life. Her pencil skirt is riding up a little. She doesn't tug it down.

"Hey Jake," she smiles. "You're right. Thanks for looking out for my stupid little ass."

Jake glances at her ass. "There you go with your negative self-talk. I'll be the judge of that."

Lisa laughs. She needs to catch her younger self at The Ecstasy. Jake has wheels. More than that, he's got that touch she's missed for the last ten years. "You're funny. Listen, Jake, how about..."
