“It started when you first died,” Liara said. “At least that was the first time I met Shiala outside of our first encounter with the Thorian. She requested my assistance and from there we moved on when you came back to me. You remember when she was on Illium? Well, she would often visit my office and we would talk. You were seeing Thane at the time. And I accepted that. And I, well, I started developing feelings for Shiala.”

“But you were upset at me?” Shepard asked.

“I… I was caught up in my feelings. I loved you. I still love you, Jane. But I also had feelings for Shiala. I guess it annoyed me that we were both doing the same thing.”

“So then what?” Shepard asked.

“Then the Reaper war happened and you… you died again,” Liara said. “at least I thought you did until I discovered your body. During that time… I… I started a relationship with Shiala. I wanted to move on from you to handle my grief. And when you came back… I thought…. well… I don’t know what I thought… and that’s pretty much the story. As for Shiala… it’s not the same relationship as you and me. It’s more of a mutual understanding… an open relationship. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth, but I didn’t want to hurt you.”

Shepard sighed and laid down on the pillow. “I’m sorry too,” Shepard said. “You broke my heart, Liara. I mean Thane… that was a different time… but you… you left me, and I…”

Liara leaned in and kissed Shepard, taking her into her arms. “I love you, Jane. I always have. I always will. I’m sorry I hurt you.”

Shepard breathed as her lips met Liara’s, closing her eyes, feeling the embrace once again of the beautiful asari. Liara straddled Jane as she wrapped her arms around her. Liara dipped her head down and kissed Jane’s breast. “Shepard….” Liara whispered. “I’m going to make you live out your contract…”

“Mmmm,” Shepard moaned. “I’d like to see you try, T’soni.”

“Every word of it,” Liara whispered seductively. “You’ll be on your knees for me. You’ll beg for me…”

“You’ll have to make me,” Shepard smiled. “I won’t submit easily.”

“I have my ways,” Liara said. “Now… come for me, Shepard. Like you used to.”
