Freedom (Good ending)

I woke up with a strong headache, my vision still blur while I tried to picture where I was right now. I could hear some beeps from medical equipment, I also felt a needle going on my arm injecting something into my body. "Are you awake? Don't push yourself too much, you're not fully okay." A voice spoken next to me, it was a student next to me on a bed.

"Is it over?" I asked her still afraid of what Jack could do to us. "I think that perv won't cause more trouble, but we still need to clean ourselves from that weird virus he was spreading everywhere. Your student is helping everyone with a solution to help our immune system fight that thing, thanks to him we can have our lives back, free from that bastard and the manipulation he had over us..." She was still in shock, probably remembering all the things that she was forced to do.

"Are you sure about this? I still think we should call the authorities and tell them about all this crap." I heard Hunk saying, his tone showing how worried he was about the situation. "I'm sure, something like that would eventually fall in wrong hands, we need to clean everyone from that virus and everyone will be able to go back to our normal lives." Paul said to him, then I took a better look around the place and noticed I was in my own lab, some other infected people resting close to me.

I stood up with some struggle, walking toward the door, dragging that device that was injecting something into me. When they saw me she tried to help me stand. "What are you doing? You're not fully well, you should take more rest until I'm sure you're totally recovered." Paul said worried about me, helping me sit down on the couch gently. "I can rest later, what happened to that freak? Is he dead?" I said crazy to know about what is going on, I would only rest when I was sure he couldn't hurt anyone else.

"Thanks to you all of us are safe, I used your research with some other infected students to come with this solution, it should kill any trace of that ominous virus from our bodies so we don't get any surprises on the future." He said calming myself down. "Thanks Paul, we wouldn't do it without you, I'm happy to have such a wonderful student." I said giving him a warm smile and seeing him blush, after all that I saw him with different eyes. He blushed soon after that, still not used to be looked that way. "You two just saved everyone, I'm gonna make sure Jack doesn't hurt anyone else. I got him arrested with a fake false accusation, we thought it could be dangerous if someone else discover about how he turned over one hundred people into his loyal puppets. After Paul stripped him of his connection everyone seemed to be slowly turning back to their usual selfs, I'm tracking everyone down to bring them here, that guy just went crazy after he got back to his usual self." Hunk said making me aware of the situation.

"I think you guys are right, this thing is way too dangerous. I'm impressed you did all this, but we need to pay attention to any mental disorders the infected persons can show." I said still not sure if we are really safe, after all we went trough I had to be make sure this nightmare is truly over. "We know about this, I already saw it when I went back home, let's say my wife and daughter were having a little fun on their own. Luckily these remnants are slowly fading and after we treat everyone there will be nothing left to worry, maybe just the origin of all this since Jack can't even talk properly now." Hunk said first making me relax, then giving me a sudden chill with the last line, I don't wanna even think about where that thing came from.

After that day, everyone got back to their usual routine. We still remembered everything we did as were being controlled, but not the shared information our minds had while in sync. As the months went by, we just tried to forget about all this, dumping those memories where they couldn't be found again. I still talk a lot to Hunk, maybe just to be ready if something bad happens and the hive comes back, his wife is usually a bit jealous so I try not overdoing it. Ethan and Claire are still together, after the dangerous situation they went trough it just seems like their connections just got stronger.Something like that kinda happened to me as well, but my relationship remained a secret. I started meeting Paul secretly in my house, we are adults but a teacher dating a student don't sound so well for my superiors. After I saw how he did his best to save everyone I started to notice more and more how he was a wonderful person, plus we had a lot in common. "Are you ready for this? Your first time?" I asked him seeing how nervous he was, this time Jack had nothing to do with it, just me giving myself to a person I truly liked. "Don't worry, I'll teach you everything, I know you're a perfect student hehe." I giggled pulling him closer for a kiss, at least I could take something good out of that mess.

This was a fun story to me, maybe I got too many characters into it and took far longer than expected but I still enjoyed how it came out. I'm sorry for the grammar mistakes, I tried to correct the most I could but as english is not my first language I'm sure I let a lot of errors slide, just hope they didn't made the read less enjoyable. I'm gonna drop the bad ending today or tomorrow, make sure to look at it as well, also if you could let me know your thoughts about the story as a whole I would be really grateful for that. I will probably drop a new story as soon as it got a few chapters ready, so stay tunned for more. Thank you all.
