Fortunately for Runa, the statue had drawn her attention to the desk, as well as the safe built into the floor beneath it. And unfortunately for Hal Jacobs, he'd left a note with a string of three numbers (31-14-32) right beside the golden statue. While he didn't go so far as to label it as the combination to his safe, the intention was clear.

And upon inputting the combination, Runa's suspicions were proven correct. The safe opened without issue, revealing several gold bars and a large bag of coins. There was also a schematic for the mansion. For the most part, it just confirmed information about the building's layout that Runa already knew. But it revealed that the basement to the mansion had two floors. Given that the basement had not come up even once in her investigations into Jacobs, he likely only allowed those closest to him down there.

What kind of secrets could it hold?

The treasure from the safe would be more than sufficient for tonight's raid, but she couldn't help but be curious. It'd be risky, but should she try to head down to the basement to investigate?
