Former Childhood Friend (Male)

You were once extremely close to Candy. The two of you lived just two houses away from each other and had frequent playdates. However, after high school began, she moved further away and although you both went to the same school, your interests eventually diverged. Not to mention, it grew awkward for you to interact with her when you began to see how cute she'd become. Unluckily for you, the attraction was not mutual and for Candy, it became more of a smear on her reputation to continue hanging out with you. Early on, she tried to be polite but by senior year, she deliberately avoided you completely. At least, because of your shared past and thanks to a kind word put in by Candy, you were spared from the worst of the teasing from the cheerleading squad. (That said, even her influence couldn't put a complete stop to it.)
