Chapter 7 by Thistooisyuri Thistooisyuri

To a new life!

Flash forward two weeks (Start here to skip prologue)

Amy Dean is sitting at the kitchen table of her and her husband's shared apartment, opening the mail, when she finds a letter from their health insurance company. She figures it's probably a just a random bulletin or maybe a bill, so she opens it to see. Bold letters at the top read "Important Customer Information: Psychotherapy Pilot Program Incentives."

"Hey, Honey, come look at this." She calls to her husband, Issac Dean, who's vacuuming the living room.

There's a pause as the vacuum switches off, and then Issac pokes his head into the kitchen. "What is it, dear?"

Issac's a relatively small man, about five foot four and skinny, with pale blue eyes and an unruly mop of curly blonde hair, which very nearly matches his wife's longer, straighter hair in color. She's several inches taller than him, and a bit more muscular, but in general people often comment on how similar they are, in terms of hair and build.

"This letter from our insurance company came in. It looks like they're offering to lower our rates if we participate in some kind of pilot study on couples therapy."

"Wait, really? How much are they offering to lower it by? And why?" He asks, stepping all the way into the kitchen.

"Looks like they'd lower our rates a hundred dollars a month, and drop our deductible from five thousand to four if we agree to participate in 'weekly couples therapy with a third party contractor, along with at home therapeutic exercises.' Seems like they're testing the impact of regular therapy on reducing long term healthcare costs for some kind of preventative thing. Either way, it's a five year study, and the couples therapy would be covered fully by our insurance without deductible or co-pay."

"Huh," Issac says, looking pensive. "I feel like we don't need couples therapy, but if they're offering to charge us less for it, I don't see why we wouldn't just go along with it. Does it say what we do if we want in?"

"Yeah, it says they've contracted a local therapist, Doctor Nicole Wynn, from Purity Healthcare Group, to conduct the therapy sessions. Apparently we just call her and set up an appointment within the next thirty days to start. Seems like an easy way to save money to me."

"I agree. I'll call them tomorrow." Issac promises.

"Sounds good dear." Amy replies as her husband goes back in to finish vacuuming. "Purity Healthcare Group...why does that name sound so familiar?"

So, on to their first appointment
