Fixing Mistakes

“I need to talk to you about Martha.”

It was six in the morning, the last day before the exam. The pair were sat in a park near Isaac’s house, having met there following Emma’s announcement to her boyfriend that she had prepared the final stage of the game.

Emma’s face beamed with amusement at Isaac’s remark.

“What about her?”

“Ben wants to take her to prom, and he asked me to help him to do that.”

“And?”

“And I think you can understand how given her recent… interactions with you, that might be off the table?”

“And why exactly would that be a problem, Isaac? Its not like they were dating when she and Favorite fucked, so why should Ben be so insecure about it, especially since I bet nobody has told him about it anyway, because, once again, its none of his business what Martha does? Or are women only allowed to be sexual with other people when their boyfriend gets off on it?” Emma was glaring at him now; brow furrowed like a series of deep canyons and squinted eyes daring him to try rebuke her rant. It would have been cute if she wasn’t so terrifying.

“No… I guess not.” He acquiesced, knowing this was not an argument he could win. “How do I get her to be Ben’s date then?”

The raven-haired enchantress snorted dismissively, “has Ben tried just asking Martha to be his date? Why do boys always make it so much harder for themselves with these sorts of things? She doesn’t have a date yet, and I’d put money on her saying yes to him.”

“Alright then. I’ll help him do that, I guess. You said you had something for me?” Isaac tried to be casual, maintain the pretence that every quest she assigned didn’t have him hanging by a thread, desperately trying not to fail her.

“This one could be easy for you Isaac, or it could be very hard. I honestly don’t know, but I messed up with that DnD session, and now I need you to right my wrong.”

“What do you mean?”

“All you have to do is be at this parking garage in an hour and talk to whoever else arrives.” She replied, shoving a piece of paper with an address into his hand.
