Chapter 18 by Narune Narune

How can I unleash this energy.

Fill her up

I came, in a way. Every ounce of my power flowed up the tendrils and burrowed into her womb. The goblin screamed and fell to the ground as my tendrils broke away and became dust.

I yelped as I hit the ground, my voice high and sweet. My vision changed, though I could still see in the night, and my skin came alive with feelings. I looked at the ground, at my small green hands, and started to laugh. I was alive, I was real, even if it were in the weak and tiny body of a goblin. I stood and stumbled, feeling the oddest sense of vertigo; I was so small, the balance was so different.

I laughed again, true joy; the rarest of all feelings, bubbling out.

I spun in place, stretching my arms out, and let everything wash over me. The feeling of the wind, the scent of the forest, the moonlight, and the pain. Especially the pain, so indictive of life.

But, for all that, I wasn't satisfied.

If I could do this, couldn't I take a different one? A better one?

What else could I do?

I was a merchant's son and even in the face of setbacks, a merchant looked to maximize profit.

I rubbed my hands together and looked towards Barley.

Well, what now?
