The conclusion of File #2.
File #2 Ending 0.3 - Light extinguished
Another gray-furred female lycanthrope was sitting in the middle of the room, playing with Valerie's loaded crossbow. When it noticed your entrance, it looked up and stared into your eyes.
Those eyes... Even if it was in this form, you would recognize those black eyes immediately. They were as beautiful as the first day you saw them. You stood still. You were just done.
It happily put down the crossbow and lunged at you. You didn't resist and just let it pin you down on the ground. You closed your eyes with tears of sorrow, decided to let it do whatever it wanted with you. You've seen what happened to other people. They were fucked, munched on, and killed. If this was your fate as well, you were okay with it, as long as it was the one you loved that brought you eternal sleep.
At first, you felt its breath close to your neck, its claws clutching your shoulders, like it was ready to take a bite. But that didn't happen. The lycanthrope just growled lowly, licked your cheek with its wet tongue, and then growled again. It repeated this pattern until you opened your eyes with confusion.
It released you, ran back to grab the crossbow, and returned to give it to you. It was at this moment that you realized its claws were so deformed that it couldn't even hold the crossbow properly.
You lifted your head and looked into its black eyes. You saw both happiness and sadness. It quietly growled at your face again, urging you to pick up the crossbow. Your hands were trembling, but then it howled in a cheerful tone, like it was trying to give you the courage to do what had to be done.
And you knew what had to be done.
"Why..." You picked up the crossbow, but you couldn't stop your tears. "Why do I have to do this... Why me... Why us..." You murmured, overwhelmed by sadness and pain.
It opened its arms and stepped closer, like it was trying to give you a hug. But when it saw your body trembled in fear instinctively, it stopped and backed down. You noticed that its mouth, its arms, and its legs were slightly shaking. It was suppressing its urge to come closer to you. It was suffering.
"I'm sorry..." You whispered before you took a deep breath, aimed the crossbow at its heart, and pulled the trigger.
The silver bolt shot through its body and landed on the wall behind it. The lycanthrope let out a cry as it collapsed and crouched painfully. The wound on its chest burned, and black blood slowly flowed onto the ground. It went quiet in a few seconds, and gradually reverted to its human form.
You went to pick your knife up, lay down next to Fran on the floor and saw the light extinguished in her eyes, the smile frozen on her face. You tested the sharpness of the knife once again, and gathered all the strength and courage you had left to thrust the edge into your chest.
Agony flooded your brain instantly and you couldn't even scream. Your limbs grew numb in seconds, while your vision slowly turned red. The beast inside you finally quieted down, and you were more relaxed and at ease than you had been in the past week.
In your final moments, you held Fran tightly in your arms and closed your eyes with a smile.
Good night, James Wilson.
