Female

The watermelon was a female. Her hair -- a pine-green color that all watermelons had -- went down to her shoulders, drops of dew and a few specks of dirty caught in it. Her breasts were fairly large compared to the rest of this year's crop.

After she finished rubbing her eyes, she looked at him was a confused, curious look. Jason gave her a reassuring smile before he gripped the hilt of the vine attached to her stomach, the vine dried out and useless after the melon had reached maturity, and he cut it off a few inches from the melon's belly. Like a human umbilical cord, cutting the vine after it's dried was painless and the rest would fall off on its own, leaving a belly-button like a human.

"Alrighty, let's get you evaluated."

With the upper body strength a lifetime of farming gives you, Jason hoisted the watermelon woman over his shoulder. While watermelon people didn't talk, they could still express themselves orally in the form of grunts, which is what the woman did as she felt her body drape over his shoulder. Jason used his gloved hand to wipe off dirt that had stuck to her butt, which was perfectly curved with a light-yellow pigment that clashed with her green body.
