Exploring the Mansion

After Jerome left, Carrie padded around the mansion. It had a huge kitchen, a well-stocked fridge, and a large study that Jerome used as an office. He graduated from an Ivy League school, top of his class. His full name was Jerome Washington. All sorts of mementos from big deals, big mergers, and an accomplished business life at a young age. But no signs of a Mrs. Washington.

Outside was an infinity pool and an inground spa. Just inside was an impressive home gym and a sauna. Carrie withdrew to the bedroom and waited. Jerome arrived after a half-hour.

"Sorry, I forgot to ask your size," he said, placing the clothes just outside her door. " Do you want me to get you a hotel for the night?"

"Umm ... if it is okay, can I just sleep here tonight? You've been so nice, and I feel safe right here."

"Oh, sure, of course. There is a shower down the hall." Jerome turned away to go back to his study when Carrie stepped out. The clothes fit perfectly. She gave him a light kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks Jerome. You are a real knight in shining armor."
