Eve: Conversing with a Kitsune

The kitsune and elf had been left on the beach on their own, an awkward silence between them. Eve notices Kara glance worryingly toward her girlfriend, and decides to make at least some conversation. It'd been a while since the two were left alone, after all. "So...how long have you two known each other?"

Kara looks a little shocked at the question. "Since we were kids. Over a decade, now, actually." She looks oddly at the elf. "You're not going to question..." She gestures to her fox ears.

"You're not going to question mine?" Eve's fingers poke at her pointy elven ears. "I know we mentioned it before, but I believe the humish phrase is 'seeing is believing'." The pair share a giggle. "You...really care about her, don't you?"

Kara brushes a hair out of her face. "My mother calls it an 'obsession', but...yes. I do. If I could have helped it, we'd already been long married, but...we only became a couple the day before we met you."

"Marriage...huh..." Eve's gaze falls to her hands. "Elves are usually together for decades before it's mentioned..." More awkward silence. "Kara, what's Dusk's relationship with Camilla? I know you're with her, but...I can't help but wonder."

Kara sighs. "I wonder, too..."

Feeling like she crossed some line, Eve rapidly tries changing the subject. "This dreamscape... Why do you think we were brought here?"

Kara hums distractedly. "Cammy and I have magical bonds to Dusk, but I don't know about you or the others..."

"Magical...bonds..." Eve thinks back to last week, the day the arch-imago arrived. "That makes sense." Eve is about to open her mouth again, when she suddenly sits up, finding herself in the church in Riverbend, with Torch and Gilford looking down at her.
