Erica tries to leave.

Erica started gathering her things and getting ready to leave. The trick was to make it seem like she had planned to leave all along. A believable excuse would be necessary to facilitate her escape. "You know, I just remembered I promised Julie I'd do the laundry this week."

"Really?" Carrie asked me. She sounded a little disappointed. "Isn't it her turn to do it?"

"Um..." Erica stuttered. This was the problem with choosing the first semi-believable story to pop into your head. She didn't take into account who's turn it was to actually do the laundry. Actually, why did Carrie know the laundry schedule for her and her roommate? "She couldn't do it this week, so she owes me one now." If this worked, Erica would definitely owe Julie one. Even if she had to do the laundry on an off week.

Alicia studied her. "You look like you're trying to run."

Erica froze in place. Her plan wasn't working. "Of course not. I just really need to go."

Alicia came up to Erica and took her bag. "I don't think you do." Erica's eyes darted to each person in the dorm. Things had just taken a bad turn. "Now why don't you help us help Christa?"
