End of Arc 1 Author's Note

“The Newman boy?” A tired, grayed face leaned over the wooden war-table. The Hermit had shown an interest in the young mage… The Emperor still had no idea why.

“We’ll put him with our plant. Keep a close eye on him,” The Fool replied, his smooth voice instantly calming the old man.

“You’d do well to watch the girl too.” The High Priestess’ voice was barely audible, even in the quiet room. “She’s missing a piece… and whoever took it wants more.”

“The trials are set. The contestants selected. All that’s left is to lure them in,” The World asserted, getting up from the throne. “Hermit or not, we have other things to worry about.”

Howdy folks, TheGunslinger here!

The above is a small teaser from Arc 2: Trials and Tribulations, which with any luck will premiere October 8th, with a brand new character sheet and leveling system to boot! College has been keeping me busy, but from then on I hope to have around two chapters a week, one on Mondays and one on Fridays.

This Arc is kind of in a weird place, because it helped the story get its legs while also bringing us to the career that will dominate most of it: bounty hunting! Future arcs will be much more structured and will probably have a focus on a certain side-character to develop things a little bit. They will also likely be much longer, which means less breaks for you guys!

Hope you guys enjoyed the romance, action, and “plot”. All this and more in the next arc! Stay tuned!
