Chapter 1202 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Dream.

There was once a man named Sigeberht. Nearly five centuries ago, he ruled as Wizard King of Mirious--a kingdom that once prospered yet fell just beyond the Western Pecho Peaks, sandwiched between the Oraang Desert and the free cities to the south. There he stood proudly within the tallest tower of his castle. His incredibly long, black hair blew wildly in the winds which wafted inward through the window, but it bothered him not. His icy, piercing blue stare oversaw all which was his to rule. While a spiked crown of solid gold rested atop his head, he was garbed in a pale outfit which combined light armour with the flowing silk of a mage's robe, and in his hand was a mighty magic spear.

Despite his age, his face was shaved smooth, though any could tell by the weathering of his skin and the wrinkles beneath his eyes that he was a wise, experienced man, and this was certainly true. He carried with him knowledge that most had either forgotten or never knew. The reason was simple. His father was not born of this world.

Sigeberht was the spawn of an Earthling with a human from here in Absoterra. He had always carried the truth of Isekai Theory, and therefore, had been obsessed with it. While he had no desire to invade Earth, nor even to travel there, his very existence interested him. Someone from another world has such a different physiology when it comes to magic, as well as the classes bestowed upon the people by Goa. He knew that if he could experiment and find out the true potential of this fact, he could create something greater. Could the ultimate lifeform be made through the genetic augmentation of humanity with enough magic and the knowledge to do so? While he knew he wouldn't live forever, he didn't care. It was the mark he could leave on the world that drove him.

While he may have had high aspirations, one could argue he was mad. Nobody knew the terrifying experiments he would perform on his enemies. People perished in the dungeon deep beneath his castle, or worse. To him, it was all in the pursuit of progression. He wanted to create the perfect humans, either to rule Mirious in his absence, or to do so much more.

He eventually fell in love with the red-haired consort, Lady Carreen.

She may have not known the extent of his obsession, as he hid most of his work from any but himself, or perhaps she saw something beyond his cold stare. The two of them were together for years. Perhaps she had an effect on him, as after awhile, he did actually grow a beard--a short one, though always nearly trimmed. They had no idea of the complications to come, between invading nations and evil monsters. No kingdom lasts forever. This story isn't about the fall of Mirious, however. It's about the birth of three girls--Callisto, Breiah, and Vivilia. They were no ordinary children, however.
