Double down

It’s around the time that you power walk away from a guy who vastly overestimates the ability of an octopus to communicate, that you realize you’re thinking about the KDK the wrong way. It isn’t some super power you can use however you want, it's blatantly designed to make life more sexual. So there isn’t going to be an avenue for making Hannah less voyeuristic because that would reduce her sexuality. The only way to stifle her at this point is to change the sexual dynamic in a way that escalates but leaves you less vulner​able.

You think back to your conversation earlier. As much as it made you squeamish, it was clearly an effective tactic. The immediate confrontation meant Hannah couldn’t just slink away before the conversation got tense. Not to mention, her clear shame and guilt gave you very usable leverage. You make a mental note of what you are and are not okay using that leverage for. Around this time you get to where you’re supposed to meet her.

Hannah arrives a few minutes later than you were expecting, but her tardiness is understandable given that she is probably dreading this conversation even more than you. As you acknowledge her presence, she starts to speak, “Violet I-”

“I just wanna go home,” you cut her off, “we can talk about that in the car.” Just stating that what you want to happen is what Will happen doesn’t come naturally to you. That isn’t much of an issue though as Hannah, knowing she’s in the wrong, doesn’t put up any resistance.

You follow as she meekly leads you to her car. “So… how was the mall V?”

You stay silent, worrying that speaking even a terse response would break the tension.

“Okay… I- um. My work was okay, not much happened but, yeah, work….” Hannah fumbles out in a clear attempt to break the silence you’ve been carefully cultivating. Thankfully you arrive before the silence becomes too much to handle. You get in the passenger side backseat to maximize the distance between you.

You’ve iced her out just enough to set the stage. “Ok, good. Now that we’re alone, what lie have you prepared for me, Hannah?”

“Uh I mean, I- well…” Hannah is clearly not prepared to have no plausible deniability to hide in. She stammers for a little bit before deciding something. As she turns out of the parking lot, she sighs. “You’re right V, I’m sorry. I heard some noises and I was curious and then when I saw what was happening I just froze.” She doesn't glance in your direction, even through the rear-view mirror, likely appreciating the road for giving her somewhere else to look. “That’s no excuse though, I’m truly sorry, you deserve to be able to have alone time without worrying about something like that.” The apology is appreciated, but the confession clearly contains a half lie, considering your sister’s lifelong pattern of behavior.

You won’t f​orce her to admit anything too shameful, not this conversation at least. However, you need to point something out if this confrontation is going to work. “You got curious? That doesn’t sound quite right. I think you knew what you would find. Just like you knew what you’d find earlier yesterday when I was showering.”

Considering the look on Hannah’s face in the mirror, her eyes would be locked on the ground right now if they could be. “I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful to knock in the future.”

“No you won’t.” you say flatly. “I’m more hopeful I’ll win the lottery by accident than I am that my big sister will suddenly stop perving on me just because I asked her to.” You glare the last part out, projecting more malice than you actually feel.

Hannah gets to the freeway exit closest to your house. “I- is there anything I can do to apologize?”

You break out into a hopefully unsettling grin. “You can’t undo anything, but I’ve decided on a way we can balance the scales. Pull into the next parking lot you see, I don’t want you scampering off once we get home.”
