Don makes the decision for him

“He’s not just staying for dinner, he’s staying here until either you two go back to that cabin of Heather’s or his parents come home,” Don informed everyone.

“That’s not necessary, Sir. I don’t want to impose on you,” Zack said politely.

“Save it, Bishop. You’re not imposing. If you think I’m gonna let a teenage boy run around his parent’s house unattended, playing with fire and doing all the same stupid stuff I used to do when I was a teen-aged boy, then you’re as crazy as I was at your age!” Don laughed.

“Okay, I guess I’m staying for dinner. Is there anything I can help you with?” Zack asked.

“Yup: Eating! Food will be ready in half an hour” Don said with a laugh. “But if you’re going to be eating here, you should wipe my daughter’s lipstick off your face before you face the Firing Squad!”

“Firing Squad?” Zack looked at Victoria with a worried expression on his face as Victoria wiped the lipstick off of it.

“My twin brothers; Jimmy and Kevin. Don’t let them get on your nerves or it’ll take Daddy to get them off! They’re the reasons why I don’t have you guys over,” Victoria rolled her eyes at the fate that was awaiting Zack in the dining room.

“Uh, shoes: on or off?” Zack asked before stepping in to the living room.

“Either is fine. There’s a shoe rack in the closet if you take them off,” Vicky informed her guest before leading him to the couch. After removing his shoes, Zack placed them gently on the rack and joined his hosts in the living room.

“So Zack, big man on campus this year, hey?” Don asked after taking a seat in his favorite chair.

“Well, not really the big, BIG man. That’d be Brandon. What he did with the football team this year was amazing,” Zack said of his friend back at the cabin.

“Ah yes, football. Blah blah blah! Brandon Cole. Blah blah. That team has always done well, especially with a Cole at the helm. But I was at that basketball game, young man. I saw how you came off the bench late in the fourth quarter and sunk the winning basket. You sent our team to the state tournament for the first time. AND you guys came back with the trophy. That’s something to tell your grandkids,” Don smiled at Zack. “But anyway, I’m sure you didn’t drive all the way from Robert Ravers’ cabin just to hear me say the same things about you that you’ve been hearing since that game. I’ll leave you two alone and go warn the two knuckleheads that the Good Lord ‘Blessed’ me with!”

“Are your brothers really that bad?” Zack asked Vicky.

“Worse. They’re horrible to company, no matter who it is. That’s why I don’t bring anyone over. Before I met you, Chloe, and Gavin, I had Brandon and Ashley over for dinner and I thought Brandon was going to kill Jimmy. The little shit snuck up behind Ashley and unsnapped her bra. I was so embarrassed. Daddy told Brandon to hit him, but Ashley begged him not to. Needless to say, they haven’t been back since. I just hope they don’t bother you too much,” Vicky sighed.

“Jeez, how old are they?” Zack questioned.

“Old enough to know better, but young enough to not care. Actually, they’re Freshmen.”

“They don't go to our school? That’s interesting,” Zack laughed.

“Yeah, Daddy enrolled them at private school so I wouldn't have to deal with them during my Senior year. Although they probably would have been kicked out by now,” the blonde rejoiced.

“Well, I won’t let them bother me,” he informed Victoria.

“Hey you two, dinner’s ready!” Don notified the two seniors.

“Um any taboo topics to avoid?” Zack asked Vicky before heading to the dining room.

“Not really. They’ll probably ask you a lot of questions about next year, so they’ll guide you,” Vicky informed him as she took his hand and led him to dinner.
