Disguise.

While Arerto's group enjoyed the hospitality of the travellers Arerto herself looked around and realised that there was one drawback. The amazons sere of fair skin and the travellers all dark-skinned. The traveller's leader Cheytelle said it would not be a problem as they had some dye that they could use and the darkness should allow them to pass as travellers when they approached the gates. Arerto agreed and so her group each stood at the back of a wagon and were asked to strip and then they were covered in the dye. The last to go was Arerto and when she was finished in the darkness she and her group looked like the rest of the travellers. They finished eating and drinking then they loaded into one of the wagons with the archer near the front already with their crossbows loaded. The wagons moved off towards the city the evening turning darker as the clouds cross in front of the moon and Arerto hoped it did not rain.

On arrival at the gate, the wagons were stopped and the guards milled around them checking the women. They then turned their attention to the wagons looking for contraband. The guard's commander asked Cheytelle what her business was and she replied that they were here to release the prisoners then she laughed and said they were there to entertain the city's population. The guard commander checked once more and then ordered the gates opened and waved Cheytelle and her wagons inside. So far so good they had entered the city and now were headed to the prison to get their comrades back and Arerto would see her Helena. They pulled the wagons up to the gate and the two guards pointed to where they could leave them and with their attention taken by the travellers they did not see one wagon positioned facing the towers. As soon as the guards were fully distracted the archers opened the cover of the wagon and took out the two tower guards.

The other warriors quickly dispatched the first guards and then moved a wagon next to the prison wall so they could climb inside. Arerto jumped down on the other side and opened the gate to allow the rest of her group inside and thanked Cheytelle and her travellers. Cheytelle said they would go to the town square and put on a show for the city to distract them. With her party inside Arerto headed towards what looked like a guard room and peeked in the window and saw only two soldiers inside. Her archers made quick work taking them out quickly and quietly allowing the warriors to move into the cell block. However, when they looked in the cells there was no sign of their comrades only prisoners from the city and other captured people. One of them told Arerto that the amazons had been sent to various houses in the city as slaves but one had been kept by the prison governor Isabella. Arerto ordered the prisoners released and went looking for any list of where the amazons had been sent.
