Digging a hole for yourself
"So what are you going to be doing while here?" Giles asked as he led Xander to the library.
"Hiding out from my legion of female fans, of course ." Xander answered.
"Must you? The love spell was quite foolish, Xander. Do you really miss the female population of Sunnydale trying to tear you to pieces?"
"Ennnh." He shrugged. "Me being the object of every woman's lust... theres something to be said for that. Especially as Cordelia dumping me means I don't have a girlfriend. " He gave Giles a weak smile. "Is it wrong that i enjoyed the attention?"
Giles canted his head and slightly smiled. "Yes. No." He laughed, "Bit of both I suppose."
"Yeah. Thats kinda where I'm at. The first part, every woman lusting after me? Being treated like I was one of the Beatles? I liked that... The mob ****. No. Hell no. No woman should be trying to kill me or anyone else for me. Y'know?" Xander sat at one of the study tables and slouched back.
"Is there a reason women are so..." Xander gestured in annoyance, "womanish."
"You mean being people?" Giles moved back behind his desk and to the library books that needed to eb shelved.
Xander groaned. "How dare they not be easily pigeonhold stereotypes."
"There there." Giles glibly comforted the boy.
"It gets easier, right? You get older and things with Women get easier?" Xander asked.
Giles snorted.
"Thats a no?" Xander let his head slump.
"People are still people at any age, Xander. Unless you change yourself things will still be this difficult for you at sixteen or sixty." Giles observed.
Xander whined. "Dating shouldn't be hard. Dating should be easy. I feel a thing, you feel a thing, lets get together and feel something."
"Tawdry teenage lust can make for amazing one night stands but are a terrible foundation for a lasting relationship, Xander." Giles set a stack of books aside for shelving on the same shelf.
"Thats a whole other thing. Thats not dating. Thats being in a relationship." Xander waved Giles off.
"How silly of me." Giles mused. He pushed a stack of books toward Xander. "As long as your here... shelve these books, please, Xander."
Pushing himself to his feet Xander sighed. "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Work. Work. Work."
"You could always be enjoying the class you are skipping." Giles moved to another set of books.
"Point." Xander took the books.

Truth of the Matter
Words DO mean something
A man or woman gains the power to speak things into reality: What they say, goes. Will they be responsible with this power? Will they use it to make the world a better place? Or will they change the world around them for their own pleasure?
