Denise's fateful swim

Few people dared to Skinny Dip off of famous Beaches.

Denise was an exception.

She left her clothes in a crate (that looked like it belonged and shouldn't be moved) and got into the water off of Brighton Beach.

She swam out in the dark.

She loved the feeling of cold water all over her body.
She loved the thrill.

It was an enjoyable 20 minutes or so out there when something happened.

Her feet were kicking in the water to stay upright when they bumped into something.

'Oh no- not...not that.'

It was hard to gauge what it was by these quick touches.

Even so, she panicked.

When you get scared, you make mistakes.
This was that time.
