Day 7: Impersonation

"Haha... yeah..." Gwen nervously forced out, peeking at the stream preview with the corner of her eye. Clearing her throat as the chat continued to scroll past, she resumed playing the game, her heart continuing to race. "Y-Yeah, you know... how it is!" Gwen nervously laughed, unsure if the chat was making fun of her or genuine in their flurry of comments.

"I... think the emotes aren't working?" Gwen mumbled, unsure how to react, as this comment inspired another flurry of comments, nearly all containing what she assumed were supposed to be emotes. Frankly, Gwen was completely and utterly out of her depth. One moment, she was walking down the street, wondering why the black-haired woman in front of her had a zipper sticking out the back of her head. The next moment, Gwen hurried her next few steps to compliment the woman on how cute the red streaks in her hair looked as, unable to hold back, Gwen tugged on the zipper. Then, watching as the woman literally opened up in the back, a look of horror and pleasure stuck on her face, Gwen couldn't resist stepping inside.

Memories, at least some of them, flowed into Gwen's mind as she blinked with her new, red eyes. She tugged at the red tie she was now stuck with, unable to resist muttering about how tight the vest and trousers around "her" body were. But then, in an instant, the temptation to "explore" the body she'd somehow possessed, a quiet voice whispered in the back of her head. A voice that begged Gwen to hurry back to "her" apartment, get "her" computer on, and start the stream before "her" chat would start spamming that "she" was late to the stream. Something that she was completely out of her element doing and, as Gwen continually noted under her breath, could've been easier if she'd gotten just a few more memories.

"Chat... why do you keep saying she-I stink?!" Gwen whined, unable to resist lifting up "her" arm and giving a nervous sniff. "...Peaches? It smells like... chat?"

"Chat, uh... what kind of streamer am... I?" Gwen asked with a nervous chuckle. "Like... hypothetically, if I was possessed, shouldn't all be... calling an exorcist or something? Not... okay, guys, I'm gonna guess that 'Booba' is supposed to be an emote too. It's not 'my' boobs, is it?" Gwen asked, scratching the side of "her" head as another series of emotes flooded in, most of which Gwen assumed was some version of laughing. "Guys, I'm trying to... am I gonna get her banned if I... 'Pausechamp' again. Look, I... hypothetically, if I did possess this person, I hypothetically didn't get the chance to... hypothetically see what's 'under the hood', and... if it gets extra donations or whatever, I figure..." Gwen trailed off, biting "her" lip as, for once, the chat came to a halt. "Guys?" Gwen asked, gulping as she heard a notification, coming from a different app on "her" computer, a DM that she hesitated to check...

Writing today's prompt was an interesting experience, to say the least. When I saw the prompt and then the optional side-prompt of "VTuber", I was 100% sure I'd combine the two for today's prompt. The issue... however, was picking a VTuber, I didn't want one of them to stumble across this chapter and be offended or upset or creeped out or anything like that. So, if it wasn't apparent by the description of the woman Gwen possessed, the VTuber I went with was VacantVessel/VacantVes (https://vacantves.com, they have a youtube and twitch and all that, but the website is listed on the youtube page, so... I went with that one) given their whole... propensity for possession and such. Honestly, I haven't watched any of their streams yet, but I've seen a few clips and referred to their vtubing wiki page for references, like that they are "notoriously stinky", apparently. And I hope that the use of "emotes" makes sense and all that. I was also reminded of a recent-ish art by FanterFane, simply called "Mori Calliope?!" where people "behind the VTuber" possess the model by talking through them.
