Dad's POV

You knock impatiently at your teenage son's door. You've searched the whole house David must have the package. You just hope he hasn't figured out what it is yet, that would raise a lot of very uncomfortable questions.

"Dad! Um, hi. What's up?" David says with the exact same guilty look he used to get when you caught him stealing cookies.

"No need to look so worried son." You say with a chuckle "I'm just looking for a package I was expecting, you haven't seen it have you?"

David hesitates and before he can say anything you spot the still wrapped package on his bed.

"Ah there it is" you say pushing past him to scoop it up "Darn delivery company leaving it outside. I will be having words with them. Oh, and you should really clean up in here, it's a mess"

You leave him grudgingly scooping up dirty laundry and go down stairs. To your great relief the package doesn't seem like it's been opened.

Eagerly you tear it open and take out the two pen like objects then read the instructions twice. You can hardly believe it, it's actually real! When you had found this costume device online you had half expected it to be some kind of prank but now you are holding it in your hands.

Practically shaking with excitement you decide you have to test it right now
