Cut them down

You look over your shoulder, making sure that Gibbi and Ella are standing behind you. You flash them a quick smile before returning your gaze to the bandits.

"Don't do anything dumb now, you hear?" One of the bandits gesture towards you with his club, trying to be as threatening as he can be, while the other slaps his club into the palm of his other hand over and over.

You slowly step forward while drawing your sword. "A bum, huh?... I guess I see why you would say that." You crack your neck as you step into combat distance from the two bandits before you stop walking.

"I could do with some new rags... Try not to bleed to much now, okey?" You say while smiling ominously at them.

In a flash, you spring forward, slashing your sword at the closest bandit. It cuts him right across his chest, making him jump back in surprise while clutching at his wound. "You motherf...." is all he manages to get out, before you charge forward, impaling him with your sword.

He drops to the ground like a sack of potatos, but does not dissapear like the monsters you have defeated earlier. You raise your sword, pointing it towards the other bandit. "If you care for your life... Don't... Move!" Your gaze is deadly and as his eyes meet yours, he drops his club on the ground and raises his hands in defeat.

You look back at the defeated bandit laying at your feet. "Inspect".

"Hmm... so, there is a difference between monsters and... people? Did I just kill another person like myself?"_ _You feel a sense of regret at you look at the dead bandit. Making enemies dissapear into clouds of dust like it's a game is all fine and well, but this was something else.

Your hand shakes as the realisation hits you. You just killed someone.

You suddenly feel a hand on your shoulder which makes you flinch and look at whoever is touching you. You see Ella touching your shoulder as he gives you an understanding smile. "D-Don't be afraid, he is not like you, he belongs here." You look at Ella, wide-eyed and surprised at his words.

"You still have that one to take care of, he might know where the other bandits are." Ella says, while pointing towards the bandit that you have your sword raised at. You swallow hard and give Ella a nod. You use your inspect on the bandit standing in front of you, and it gives you the same information as with the other, except with a different name.

"Listen here Carl, we are looking for a group of bandits who has kidnapped a young lady from her family some time ago. If you tell..." You don't get to finish your sentance before the bandit interrupts you.

"Y-Yes! I-I-I know who did it! Please, don't kill me." He drops to his knees and pleads you. "It was our leader, Caleb Thornwood!"

You look at your companions, surprised at how easily Carl started to talk. "Okey... Thank you Carl. Now, where can we find him?" You lower your sword, feeling no reason to threaten the bandit further.

"He, he, he has a base further in the woods. Just follow the trees that have a thornbush surrounding it's base and you will find his camp. B-But be carefull, he has alot of people with him and the camp is defended with a wooden wall."

"Thank you again Carl. You are free to go now, but, don't let me hear about you breaking the law anymore, or I WILL find you and stop you." You say, trying to sound as menacing as possible.

Carl nods and skittishly stand up, leaving his weapon on the ground as he runs past you.

"Well, let's try to find those trees he talked about." You say to your companions, just now noticing that Ella still has his hand on your shoulder. It's a small comfort, but you can't shake this horrible feeling of just having killed a person.
