Continue on North without Checking on her Companions

After Madeline gathered her wits about her in a good hiding spot among some rocks. She waited for at least an hour--long enough to know that danger was not imminent--Sam, of course, was struck down--no doubt dead from that spear hurled directly at his face. Dr. Giles didn't stand a chance. She last saw him running in fear. Captain Ward probably went down fighting.

Madeline knew it was wrong to not even check on her companions--but she had to carry on the mission. Her home, her vault--her people--depended on the success of her mission to retrieve the ERMA.

Madeline Headed north. She new that this New Vegas lay that way. Her best bet would be to get there. Evidently there was a vault there. If she could chance upon an ERMA another way--all the better. But before she began moving she took time to weep. The experience had been traumatic and her hands still shook as she considered her actions.
