Contacting Laura

I found Jessica was still awake, sitting in her bed in her pj's with her phone. As I entered she gave me another one of her signature looks as she took in my outfit. The disdain in her face was obvious. I ignored her as I sat down on my bed and fired off a message to Laura.

Me: I'm officially in an open relationship

Laura: Congratulations!

Me: Is it too forward of me to ask you to sleep with my boyfriend?

Laura: No problem! When do you want me to come over?

Me: How about tomorrow?

Laura: It's a date!

I was shaking my head at how easy that had been when I saw Jessica was stilll staring at me. I had ran away from this conversation for too long I decided. Time to face the music.

"Do you have something to say?" I said. She just shook her head.

"Look," I continued. "I realize I have making a lot of changes lately, and doing strange shit, but I'm just experimenting Jess. Trying new things."

"Looking like that?" she said, then she sighed. "I'm sorry Em. I know it's not my place to judge your actions, but you seem to be straying from the ideals I though we shared."

"I haven't done anything I didn't want to do. I still believe in women's right to choose. I'm just broadening my horizons."

"Just don't expect to to follow in your footsteps."

"I won't, I promise. Friends?"

"Always," she said giving me a warm smile.

"I'm planning on having Jamie over tomorrow. Could you let us have the room to ourselves?"

"I can do that."
