Confrontations: A Wolf Pretending To Be A Sheep, Part 11 - Gun To Gun, Part 10

"Such A Shame... If They Had Anti-Material Weapons They Might Have Been Able To Escape.," Thought Aaron as he pushed off the wall with his foot and strode across the rooftop before stopping short of the center, each step feeling heavier than the last, a cold chill racing up his spine and his breath became visible in the hot night air.

A thin skim of frozen mist rose from the ground and gathered around each body that lay unmoving on the roof. In the mist Aaron could almost swear that he could see small, delicate hands moving just below the mist. Every where Aaron turned, the dainty fingers of the delicate hands moved expertly below the mist, exactly what they were doing Aaron couldn't tell but for some reason he was not only unfazed by the rather disquieting sight happening around him, It actually seemed familiar... More than that, It was something he felt that he had witnessed many, many times but how could that be as he was sure that this was his first such experience.

"It has been so long since these eyes have beheld The Majesty of The Elder... So Young and yet... so very, very old.," A soft whisper from behind gently caressed Aaron's ears.

Aaron felt a shiver as he stood straight., "Who Are You?!"

"I should be very upset with you...," Aaron heard a cold but unmistakably Feminine voice from behind him and he turned to find a young and very beautiful Woman standing behind him near the ledge of the building. She was dressed in black with skin and hair that gave the impression of silken softness but were as pale as the whitest porcelain.

"... Because of you I have been quite busy this night."

Aaron was surprised, His satellite scans revealed that aside from some dead bodies he was completely alone on the roof but obviously he wasn't. As he watched her for any sign of malicious intent he felt a sudden oppressive weight bearing down on his shoulders and for a moment even though he didn't show it he was frozen in shock and his blood ran cold in his veins because behind the mysterious young Woman lay a road that stretched out from her shadow as far as Aaron's eyes could see and even under the night sky that was very far in deed. It wasn't any ordinary road but one soaked in blood with mountains of corpses lined up on either side of it with huge crows eating their fill of rotting and diseased flesh.

One of the enormous crows looked toward Aaron, an eyeball hanging from its scythe-like beak by the torn remnants of an optic nerve. The Crow tossed its head back, tossing the eye into the air before opening its mouth wide, arms with burnt and blackened flesh reached up out of its maw to grab the eye, desperately fighting with one another for the tiny morsel before its beak snapped shut like a coffin lid being closed violently. The Crow then looked back toward Aaron, causing him to shiver. The Crow and its brethren took flight and flew off into the distance as the scene behind The Mysterious Woman faded from view.

Aaron felt nauseous and repulsed by the sight but at the same time there was a spark of recognition., "I know you don't I?"

"Your Family and I have a long relationship. Your Brothers made alot of work for me too.," The Beautiful yet Dour Young Woman spoke as though she were recalling a long forgotten memory.

"I don't have any Brothers.," Aaron snapped.

"He was the most troublesome of all.," The Enchanting Woman said with a wistful smile.

"You mean Johnathan?," Asked Aaron.

"Then you do remember?." The Pale Woman asked with a smile that could melt ice.

"Remember What?!," Aaron growled through clenched teeth as he pinched his forehead in pain.

Aaron's face rippled and in an instant he became someone else, He wore the same suit minus his jacket and tie, and his build was similar but his features were more mature and much more sharply defined., "Hello Az, Long Time No See... It's Been Millennia Since You Last Stepped From Behind The Grey Shade.," The voice was as ancient as it was cold and impassive.

The Pale Woman's expression immediately softened in realization but before the happiness that threatened to overtake her cold and indifferent features could fully manifest her expression fell and the joyous light in her icy blue eyes quickly faded, returning to their previous somberness as Aaron's visage returned to normal.

"I Asked Who Are You?," Aaron repeated impatiently, seemingly unaware of what had just happened.

"There are many things you do not yet understand young Kin'rit but rest assured... in time all mysteries are eventually revealed.," The Strange Woman said mysteriously before playfully blowing Aaron a kiss.

Aaron was about to demand The Strange Woman explain who she was and what she meant but before he could even open his mouth to speak The Strange Woman's body began to fade, dispersing like smoke in the wind. Her face was the last to be blown away, She was smiling and her eyes held a promise... They promised Aaron that he would see her again though whether that was good or bad was anyone's guess.

Once her body had disappeared from sight the only trace of her was an unusual odor... Aaron had trouble placing it but it smelled like a combination of Incense, Ash, and Jasmine.

Aaron shook his head to clear his mind., "Today Has Been One Endless String of Strange Occurrences But... This Mystery Will Have To Wait Along Side The Rest Until I've Killed The Rest of These Bastards.," Aaron thought as he looked at the bodies scattered all around him.

Aaron stood in the center of the roof, The freezing mist now gone. Aaron used some Antiseptics and Wound Sealants from his Medical Kit to patch his right hand until he could take the time to repair the damage later then bandaged it. The damage incurred by his Light Shield rendered it practically useless but it was still partially operative at severely reduced power so he confined its operation to vital areas like his head and chest. He couldn't leave it active because of its now unstable condition so he quickly wrote a script and then used his link to transfer it to its database where using real-time telemetry from his satellites to keep track of threats, The Light Shield would activate a millisecond before impact to block any immediately fatal shot. Any chance of survival was better than none at all.

"Lets Get This Over With.," Aaron thought with a shrug, feeling adrenaline beginning to surge through his system as he walked back to the door to the stairs and without pause, Aaron turned and ran toward the ledge of the building, stepping up and pushing off before thrusting his hands out in front of him. He cut through the air like a bullet. Aaron clicked the selector on both his Tec-9 and Tel-Nin and fired three rounds vertically into the bottom, center, and top of the window but instead of passing through the glass each round scattered like a stone hitting steel, spreading out across the glass's surface in smaller and smaller fragments before detonating, causing the entire window to explode inward into the hall.

As Aaron burst through the destroyed window and rolled to his feet guns at the ready, The pale Woman with white hair reappeared on the roof top from before and watched Aaron with an amused smile as she gripped her left breast in her dainty hand., "Make Your Brothers Proud.," The Mysterious Woman whispered, throwing her head back and moaning unabashedly, a ominous gleam in her lust fogged blue eyes.

Rising to his feet, Aaron clicked the impact selector on both of his weapons without even thinking. Aaron was on the fourth floor with most of the remaining enemy in the building concentrated on the floors above and below him.

Without so much as a pause as he rose to his feet, Aaron fired at two gunmen at the end of the hall, killing both Men easily before raising his other weapon and firing several rounds through the wall just a group of gunmen rounded the corner only for their heads to explode not long after they came into view. With a minimum of movement, Aaron used the Tel-Nin to take down a group of four Men before stepping to the center of the intersection on the floor he was on.

Aaron expanded his Hud and closed his eyes, concentrating on the rush of information that filled his senses. Aaron crossed his arms on his chest, guns in hand and waited then like a coiled snake he struck without warning neither allowing the walls, floor or ceiling to impede his aim. Aaron's arms were a blur as they moved, firing at odd angles as they whipped out like an octopus in search of its prey. At times it seemed that Aaron had actually grown multiple arms his actual arms were moving about so fast and his speed was such that it was impossible to discern just how many shots he had fired because every four shots sounded like one they occurred in such rapid succession.

Thanks to the Three-Dimensional, X-Ray-like Hud, Aaron was dropping bodies like **** on a killing spree. In only a minutes time 25 Men were dead and more were soon to follow. When his Tec-9's magazine was expended he ejected it, allowing it to fall to the ground where he kicked it, sending it barreling through the door leading to the stairs and burying it in the forehead of a gunman making their way down from up stairs... Not an easy feat given how thick and solid the door was.

In the time that action took Aaron didn't stop shooting with the Tel-Nin in his other hand and he killed another 12 People and then another six while he was reloading which was an incredible sight in itself because Aaron removed his last clip from a pouch on his belt and tossed it into the air as he twisted his body, leaning forward and raising his hand behind his back. The clip landed in place with very little sound as Aaron killed another three Men before slapping the gun against his raised knee, securing the magazine in place and pulling the slide back with his teeth.

Fifteen people died as Aaron repeated his graceful if peculiar loading sequence with his Tel-Nin. Now that both guns were cocked, locked, and ready to rock, Aaron's movements which hadn't slowed even while reloading became even faster than before.

Every shot was a masterful killing stroke and like the invisible hand of **** none could avoid it. Aaron raised his right arm directly above him and fired. The round pierced the ceiling above him with ease, severing three toes of the Man directly above him who was frozen in shock at all the people laying dead all around him. The moment the bullet hit his foot he instinctively looked down and a second later his head exploded.

At the same time Aaron clicked the selector on The Tec-9 and fired to his right just barely missing his own foot. The bullet traveled at a diagonal from the third floor to the first floor killing a Man on each floor. The shot was simply unreal and each Man was killed with a head shot. As the bullet entered their skulls it shed one of its outer layers, the fragments of which literally caused their heads to explode.

Aaron moved his raised arm slightly to his right firing every few seconds, killing five Men before his arm came to a stop at shoulder level, pointing at a Gunman on the fire escape outside the hallway window. Before the gunman had a chance to realize what was happening he was already dead. Aaron's arms fell to his sides and he exhaled loudly before opening his eyes., "With That The Building Is Nearly Free of Pests. Maybe I Should Become An Exterminator.... I Seem To Have A Knack For It."

Aaron had nearly cleared the building, While this building may have looked identical to the one across from it there were certain key differences in the layout, enemy concentration, and use of materials that made the kind of "Mass Sniping" that he was performing a more efficient overall strategy.

"The Last Den of Rats Is On The Move...," Aaron thought., "... Once They're Dead This Building Will Be Cleansed."

Aaron watched as a squad of twenty Men made their way up to the third floor from the second avoiding a number of booby traps along the way then with a smile Aaron pointed his Tec-9 at a point on the floor and waited for the squad to approach once they had reached the designated point Aaron fired a single round, setting off an explosion that engulfed the hallway in fire. The sprinkle system was able to easily take care of the blaze within a couple of minutes but it was too late to save the team making their way to Aaron. Six died due to shear concussive **** from the blast while others had their lungs seared by the intensity of the flames and at least five died when the ammunition they were carrying discharged due to the heat causing a brutal level of injuries to various parts of their bodies.

"Now To Take Care of My Other Problem."
