Leah could have flirted with Daniel or Jason, but she decided to be a good chaperone on the field trip. She also enjoyed the Colonial era and the displays. Still, Leah could sense the disappointment in both men as she attended to her duties as a school teacher.

She led her group of students around the museum, speaking in a low voice and gesticulating with her hands to point out various items of interest. As she walked, she could feel eyes on the back of her neck; heads turning to watch them pass as their small pack made its way through the gallery. She was an experienced guide—well-versed in both art history and museum etiquette. She paused periodically, insisting that they take time to gaze upon specific pieces more closely before moving ahead.
