Clueless Cleo

“Alright Cleo, it’s time for your first day of school and you need to make a great first impression,” Cleo said to the naked reflection of herself as she smiled and hopped in place gleefully that she was actually saying that.

Cleo had been homeschooled from as early as she could remember but had friends from church that talked about how awesome regular school was. She was turned away at every avenue by her mom and felt that her chance to experience school was steadily becoming more impossible. She was turning 19 and in the last half of her senior year when she spoke to her mom,” “Mom, I was hoping to speak with you about going to school with my friends…”

Her mom interjected, “Honey, we have spoken about this countless times. The answer is unfortunately no plus you are done with your diploma anyways.”

Cleo had a plan today though as she and Mackenzie had found classes that could be used as college credit. She smile as she said, “But there are college courses that can be done through Mackenzie’s school that will make college quicker and cheaper. I also would only be on school grounds for those 4 classes and then I would head right home. Plus this would be the most amazing birthday gift too.” She put her hands together as she said a drawn out, “Pretty pleeeeeease?”

Her mom raised her hand to get her daughter to stop as she got up from the table and embraced her daughter, “Please know that when I home schooled you I did it protect you, sweetheart. High school girls can be particularly nasty especially to someone like you.” Cleo was always confused by that statement and braced herself for accepting the reality of never attending an actual school until college. “However, if you really found something that can help with college and it only keeps you there for half of the day I’m alright with you doing this.”

They broke off their hug but her mom kept her hands on her shoulder as Cleo with a shocked expresssion asked, “You aren’t joking around? Are you really saying that I can go?”

Her mom nodded and said, “Yes but you go straight to school and come straight home. I can even pick you up and drop you off if that…

Cleo quickly responded, “Mackenzie said she can take me to and from there so please don’t trouble yourself. She has half days too and we would be in the same classes.” She embraced her mom one more and said, “I’m so excited to be finally starting tomorrow. I won’t make you regret it.”

Her mom smiled and said, “I know you won’t, honey. You should probably go upstairs and get ready for bed since it sounds like you have a big day tomorrow. Should I even be asking how you got approved to start tomorrow?”

Cleo smiled and said, “Mackenzie pulled some strings for me since her cousin works in the admin office.”

Her mom gave her a look of suspicion and said, “Uh huh. If I hear about anything fishy, I’m pulling you out of school immediately.”

Cleo saluted her mom as she gave her a kiss and headed to her room. She stripped down naked as Mackenzie had told her a years back, “It’s the healthiest way to sleep…” Cleo had done it ever since and she always felt refreshed when she started her day. She was fast asleep and dreaming about the exciting day that awaited her tomorrow.
