Character Names

In real life it is not uncommon to know several people with the same name. But in fiction this can be problematic.

Names should never be the same and, ideally, should never be similar. Having markedly different names helps the reader remember the characters and their story. This is why writing true stories can sometimes be difficult, and writers have to find another way of IDing the characters.
