Chapter 5 - In agony

I'm not sure how long I was out but I eventually awoke in a lot of pain. I wasn't sure where I was as my face was still swathed in bandages. My vision was blurred as I could only see through the thin gauze bandages that covered my eyes. A nurse sensing that I was conscious, then spoke gently to me and said I was well on the road to recovery.

"You can't talk just yet my dear, as your jaw has been wired shut to help it heal up after it was broken. Nod if you understand me."

I nodded and then shook my head unhappily from side to side as I was in a great deal of pain.

"Are you in any pain?" the nurse asked.

I nodded yes vigorously again.

"Very well I'll get you some pain relief right now," she declared.

I wanted to know more but I couldn't ask any questions. She returned and gave an injection into my IV line that again rendered me instantly **** which at the time was bliss. I was in pain all over with pain between my legs, my chest and my face. I was actually very grateful to sleep again.
