Chaos Witch Perks
“Did you seriously just say ‘game over’?” Belle asks her lover.
Olivia shrugs. “It felt right.” She replies, a smile on her face.
“I thought it was cool.” Mia says, flying over and dusting herself off.
“You think everything is cool.” I remark with a grin.
“Shut up. Let’s check the loot!” Mia exclaims, and I couldn’t agree more.
Together, we all walk to the chest that spawns in the middle of the arena. I’m not expecting too much, because Quelaag didn’t have a big loot table, but I throw open the lid with excitement anyway.
Aside from the $5,000,000 (an amount so ludicrous that it feels like it’s almost stopped meaning anything), there’s a huge roll of a strange type of fabric.
Observe says it’s called Chaos Satin. A weave of silk made from Chaos Witch Quelaag that can be used to make extremely comfortable clothing, which has a high resistance to fire and has bonus modifiers for its beauty and allure.
And now we have a huge stack of it, enough to make plenty of clothing, or to weave into armour. Hopefully we can find somebody to make use of it after this whole thing is over.
Even though the Sword of Izalith didn’t drop, I feel like the Chaos Satin is enough to make up for it.
“We’d better go ring the second Bell Of Awakening.” I say excitedly, leading the way forward.
The rest of my guild follows me, as I climb the steps into the second bell tower.
Stepping out onto the platform, I take a moment to admire the bell. It’s a beautiful construction, made by the smiths of the gods. Of course, it’s now used as a part of a false prophecy, within the lore, but that’s neither here nor there.
Once the rest of my guild has filed into the room, I pull the lever that activates the bell. The same beautiful sound rings out loudly, all around us.
And as before, the world slowly starts to grow dark, swirling around us. We’re all prepared for it by this point.
The world remakes itself in the dark, and our vision clears so we can see the next challenge before us: the now open gate to Sen’s Fortress.
I smile at the sight. I have lots of fond memories of falling off in that place, in the game. Let’s hope it’ll be easier in real life.
“This is Sen’s Fortress. It’s the proving ground for any ‘Chosen Undead’ to reach Anor Londo.” I tell the others. “Let’s rest for now. We can attempt this a little later.”
With that, we exit the dungeon to rest.
Well, the others head off to rest. Ivy and I have some stat choices to make, and another class level to allocate, since I’m now level 162.
All of Ivy’s statpoints go into Wisdom. I finish getting my Strength stat to 100, and after thinking about it, put the rest into Agility.

Holy shit, those are some powerful synergy bonuses. Immunity to fall damage and allowing me to conserve momentum through direction changes? There’s a lot I could do with those.
With the statpoints done, I quickly invest the class level while we wait for the others to get back into the arena. It’s the Summoner class next, so without hesitation, I put the level in.

The choice is extremely obvious. Even with the hit to my mana regen, the perk that would benefit Ivy the most, which is the point of this class as I see it, is Empowered Spirit.
“Ready to get a hell of a lot stronger?” I ask Ivy, as I tap the middle option.
She nods with a smile on her face. “Let’s do it.”

“Holy shit.” I say to Ivy, once we’ve finished reading.
She nods, wide eyed. “These are way too powerful.” She says.
I shrug. “The more powerful, the better, right? Besides, the Summoner Class perk did say that they would be incredibly powerful.” I reply.
“Can we agree not to choose ‘overcharged thorns’?” Ivy asks, staring at the window.
I nod. “Definitely. I don’t think it compares to the other two, with your skill set. A powerful perk for sure, but it doesn’t harmonise with your skills.” I agree.
Ivy takes a few more seconds to think.
“I know ‘overcharged healing’ would be the best-” She starts.
I nod. “Right, because it’s an upgrade to the most important part of your magic.” I continue her thought, knowing already where she’s going with this.
“...but can I please have ‘Battle Ready Aid’? It means I’ll never not be there for you when you need me.” She says, a hint of vulnerability creeping into her voice.
I smile at her, and she leans down to put her forehead against mine. “Please. I need to know I’ll always be able to be there, no matter what.” She pleads.
“Of course you can have it. They’re your perks, not mine.” I remind her.
“Why’d you leave me in suspense then? That was mean.” Ivy says with a grin.
“I didn’t! You’re just cute!” I protest, and she kisses me on the forehead.
“Idiot.” She says, the affection unmistakable.

“Oh, those are easier choices.” I say.
“Yep! Give me ‘overcharged healing’ please.” Ivy requests, and I oblige.
That’s going to be a super useful ability, and it could easily get us out of a lot of potentially bad situations, especially when we go up against Mathias.

“Oh wow that text is small.” Ivy says.
“Let’s see: once per month, Ivy can become a figurative Goddess of Chloromancy. Upon activation, Ivy’s physical form disappears into the plantlife around her.” I read from the window.
“In this state, she has absolute awareness of everything going on in the immediate vicinity. She can communicate telepathically with those with the Mark of Love, and her healing power and control of plantlife is increased tenfold.” I continue.
Ivy and I are both having the same reaction. Our eyes widen further with every word.
“This ability costs all of Ivy’s remaining mana, lasts for 5 minutes, and she will be unable to use any of her magic for 3 days after. Ivy has unlimited mana in this state.” I finish.
Ivy exhales a long breath after I finish reading, and looking at her, I know we’re both thinking the same thing.
“There’s no contest.” She says.
I nod slowly, processing the words carefully.
“It’s an extremely high risk, high reward skill.” I say, trying to break it down to help us process the enormous benefit it would give.
Ivy nods as I talk.
“For five minutes, that basically gives us an all powerful healer. It almost gives the rest of us invulnerability.” I say.
“Not to mention that you apparently have a ridiculous amount of control over all the plants around for that time.”
Ivy nods again. “I wonder what that would be like. My control over plants is already substantial.” She says.
I let out another breath. “Chloromancy Goddess is right.” I say. “The risky part is that it leaves you out of commission for three full days afterwards.”
“Which means that if I ever plan on actually using that skill, you’d all better make sure you win the fight in five minutes.” Ivy says.
“Otherwise we won’t have our healer to protect us after the timer goes off.” I finish.
I look back at the window and shake my head. “I think it’s worth it. We’ll have to be very careful with pulling that ripcord, but it would be very nice to have that in our back pockets if we need it.”
“Yes. Not being able to use magic for three days is scary, but if it means I can protect you and the others when it matters, and when all else fails, I’ll be glad to do it.” Ivy says.
I tap the button, and with that, all of our choices are done.
I’ve been looking forward to spending more time with Emma and Lena after our training today. It makes me smile to think about them.
