Changes in the Night

Dustin heard the altercation between Jennifer and Marcus and couldn’t be happier. Marcus followed his advice perfectly and upset Jennifer even more while also lowering her opinion of him. Not to mention, any lingering guilt she had regarding the kiss would be replaced with anger towards Marcus. Now, he had all the setup he needed to ruin their marriage even further.

“Marcus insulted you and stirred up unpleasant memories because he’s too focused on himself and what he wants. He doesn’t consider your feelings at all. Marcus is a selfish, inconsiderate, and rude person. You can’t help but think poorly of him whenever he crosses your mind.”

Jennifer nodded as her serene expression shifted to a frown.

“His actions today prove that he’s ugly in mind, body, and soul.”

Jennifer frown deepens as the view she had of her husband changes for the worse and mutters, “Ugly.”

“After everything that happened, it's natural that you have a very low opinion of Marcus.”

Jennifer accepted the suggestion, and he watched her face relax a bit. It seemed that suggestion sank in rather easily. Dustin couldn’t help but think that there might be a lot of anger and unresolved emotions regarding that nickname, but it worked in his favor, so he wasn’t going to dig too deep into it at the moment.

“You can’t help but want revenge on him for his actions.”

Jennifer nodded as the idea took root.

“Getting revenge on Marcus is extremely pleasurable.”

Jennifer nodded as she started to smile.

Dustin briefly touched Jennifer’s exposed stomach and said, “You loved the kiss and felt no guilt from it.”
