Celebration Day

Elizabeth had structured her and Black Jack's life around overcoming the challenges from Black Jack's life. So much of June was spent in celebration. In celebration of Black Jack's sobriety. In celebration of the end of his homelessness. In celebration of their anniversary. In celebration of the birthday of their first child. It was about the renewal and redemption of Black Jack's life, in all facets.

He still enjoyed a cigar and whiskey, taken originally from Douglas's reserve and now replenished by Elizabeth, but he knew how to control himself. The man Elizabeth knew now could control himself, and control her when she needed it. From where he started to where he was now, the transformation was complete. And the former beauty queen was all the more in love with him because of it.
