Cavities

Pablo looked into Ava's wide open mouth. "Look at that!" he exclaimed. "Your wisdom teeth have cavities. Now the big question is should I pull them, or drill them and fill them?" Ava tried to protest, but all that came out of her mouth were garbled noises and drool. "I think we'll pull them!" Pablo put down the drill, and picked up a pair of dental forceps. He grabbed hold of Ava's right wisdom tooth, and wiggled it back and forth, causing her lots of pain and discomfort. "You don't need these, you know. But the next teeth I pull, you may need. Now why don't you tell me what your mission is?"

Ava closed her eyes and waited for the worst to happen. She'd bear the pain if she had to. She felt the strong tug of the forceps, and the excruciating pain of a tooth being pulled without anesthesia. Her heart raced as she felt and heard the crunch of her tooth leaving her gum. She saw stars, and tears began to stream down her face. She would get even with Pablo for this! She'd pull every last damn tooth out of his head, she silently vowed. The taste of blood began to flow down the back of her throat, but at least most of the pain had now passed.

Pablo looked her in the eyes as he held up her extracted tooth for her to see. "Are you going to talk, or should I pull another one?" he smugly asked. "Blink once for yes. Blink twice for no."

Ava wasn't sure if she could withstand another tooth extraction. Pablo was crazy enough to pull all of her teeth. Or at least the mounting fear in her mind told her so. She thought long and hard about before blinking her reply to Pablo.
