Catch the Rogue Thief!

You smirked at the bound barbarian, his binds so tight that he couldn’t even wriggle inside them.

“You seem quite secure. I doubt you’d even make any progress freeing yourself before I have handled your friends,” you taunted as you sauntered casually past the barbarian. You would deal with him later.

You strolled into the halls of your castle, the footsteps of the fleeing party. You hoped to find the rogue thief, unconcerned that any of the other party members would make off with anything valuable if they found some means to escape. Your mind immediately went to the vaults where your best loot was stored. If you were a thief, that is where you would be.

You turned right at the large hall you were walking past and found the vault door unlocked and ajar just a bit. You shook your head. So predictable.

As you made your way into the secured vault, you saw the thief silently gathering treasure with a suppress presence spell, feebly trying to conceal her activities.

“Excuse me, I believe those are my belongings,” you bellowed, causing the rogue to turn around in fright. Immediately, she began scanning the room for an escape route, bolting up a pile of treasure, and attempting to reach the support beams at the top of the room.

“Oh no, you don’t,” you said as you teleported immediately in front of the rogue, grabbing their cloak as they tried to run. The rogue fell onto the gold pile, looking fearfully at you with pleading eyes.

“I don’t take kindly to those who try to steal from me,” you bellowed. “Now what to do with you?”
