Captain Montenegro

Meet Aleksander Veliki Ivanović, better known to the world as CAPTAIN MONTENEGRO! He's the tiny Balkan nation's only superhero as well as its most loyal son!

The irony is that Captain Montenegro isn't even from Montenegro, he's actually a superpowered-enhanced clone of Alexander III of Macedon, better known to history as ALEXANDER THE GREAT!

Sometime around 2006, Alexander's mummified body was discovered in a secret tomb in Egypt, causing Greece and North Macedonia to hold a bidding war (that almost turned into a REAL war), to see who could get the rights to his DNA. Greece wanted to clone Alexander so that he could be one to lead them to victory in finally retaking Constantinople from Turkey before eventually conquering it as well as Iran since this was the year the film '300' came out.

Greece won the bidding war but its dreams of restoring Byzantium were dashed when in the middle of the night, Alexander's DNA - along with his body - was stolen by a group of Romanian gypsies who were hired by the Montenegrin government who took the conquerer back to the capital of Podgorica, from which the cloning process would take place.

To add extra salt onto the wound, Aleksander - through a combination of memory alteration and disinformation - was brainwashed from birth to be a Montenegrin ultra-nationalist & supremacist (which to be fair is pretty par for the course for this region for both citizen and superhero alike), firmly believing that the original Alexander hailed from All-Mighty Montenegro and it was under the double-headed golden eagle flag that he brought the once-great Persian Empire to its knees, and that it's really Greece and Macedonia who are the ones spreading lies!

His hatred for Greece and Macedonia (the leaders and heroes, not the people) is so great that he's basically the Homelander of the Balkan Justice League of Brotherhood (that is if Homelander actually had some redeeming qualities and wasn't a total shitbag)!
