Who gets this App?
CJ, an IT worker having car troubles
You stand outside your office, holding your jacket over your head to keep the rain off of you. For the seventh time that day, you curse your stupid luck. It’d been a good day proportionally, only a handful of support tickets had rolled onto your desk; Harry had forgotten his password again; the printer in accounting had jammed; and the punch clock had stopped working. Not the worst day, but the trouble had really been before even going to work, when your car wouldn’t start. You’d fussed with it for an hour before finally giving up and sending it to a mechanic. Meanwhile, you’d had to find a new way to work.
Now you were having to find a way home, and you’d decided to call an Uber, it hadn’t been cheap, but you’ll make it work, after all, it’s only until Friday. You begrudgingly tough out the rainy weather until the white car pulls up. The window rolls down in spite of the rain, and a gorgeous blonde looks at you with stunning emerald eyes.
“Are you Carter?” She asks in a peppy, foreign accent, you guess German.
“Yeah, everyone calls me CJ.” You reply, raising your voice a bit over the downpour. The driver, whose name you know is Kitti, thanks to the Uber app, unlocks the car and lets you get in the back seat.
Kitti starts driving, and you get settled in, now getting a better look at the girl, who you assume to be a foreign exchange student at the local university, it explains her accent, at least. She’s sort of short, with wavy blonde hair reaching to the bottoms of her shoulders. What really attracts your attention is the shape of her. She’s slim, but living in the States has taken an effect, and she has a bit of chub around her waist, but the chub that really has your attention is at her chest, a pair of large breasts exposed by a deep V-neck she wears, pale and heavy.
You’re distracted from your perverted musing by a ding from your pocket. You raise an eyebrow, pulling out your phone, who’d be texting you now? At rush hour, you figure everyone you know would be driving.
You open your phone and find it’s not a text, but an app store notification. Download complete, the pop-up in your notification bar reads, Thank you for downloading CustomGirl!™. You frown suspiciously; you hadn’t downloaded anything? Hell, you couldn’t remember the last time you had downloaded a new app. Curious as to what had gotten onto your phone, and how it had gotten there, you open the app.
Colors splash across your screen, a dazzling spectacle as the logo appears, and three menu options pop up. CustomGirl!™ the logo says in thick white letters, under is displayed Shape your world.
You rule out a virus, who in their right mind would package a virus in some girl’s dress-up mobile game? But why had it appeared on your phone? You investigate the menu options.
Girl scan | Premium | Settings
You tap on settings, hoping for meta data or even production credits to find who made the app, for despite the trademark on the app’s logo, you’ve seen nothing to identify a dev team. As the settings screen opens, the brilliant colors of the app become muted versions of themselves, all in shades of grey. The settings are a relatively short menu of typical things, button volume, toggle music, music volume, etc, but you see a few other settings that raise your eyebrow.
A checkbox labeled “Prompt consent toggle,” a checkbox labeled “Instant undress” with a slider next to it labeled “Undress level,” and a checkbox labeled “Pregnancy options.” However, this box has an X over it with small faded grey text reading Premium only.
You shake your head to get your mind away from the odd options, looking for anything to tell you what this app is or where it came from, but finding nothing, you find that weirdest of all. You’ve never heard of an app that doesn’t credit its dev team, you’re pretty sure it’s illegal not to.
Only more confused than when you first opened the app, you back out of settings and look at the other two options. You’re pretty sure Premium is just a paywall, and you’ll be damned if you pay even a dime to this sketchy virus app, so you tap on the only option left, “Girl scan.”
The colors shift around again, and a blank menu box appears. The app loads for a moment; then, a prompt comes up asking to use your phone’s Bluetooth features. You allow it, you know how to deny the privileges later, so you’re not that concerned about giving them for now, and then a scanning icon comes up.
The app scans for a moment before a list of names appears in the previously blank menu box. Immediately you notice they’re all girl names, but aren’t too surprised as the name of the app clued you in that they would be.
The names seem to be basically randomly generated which you figure makes sense, but then you pause as you read the name at the top of the list, Kitti. Spelled exactly how your foreign driver spelled it. You tilt your head and frown in perplexion, surely the app wasn’t pulling from names that had recently been on your phone, you were certain you had never had the name “Helen” on your phone.
Reading her name again, your thoughts are drawn back to your previous respectful observations of Kitti’s body. She wears a black pleated skirt over her slender legs, and her hair is a bit tousled, probably from late nights studying. Your mind wanders to what you could do in her dorm room if this wasn’t just an Uber ride…
Clearing your head, you decide her name appearing in the list is just random chance, and tap it. The app swipes and you’re brought to a new screen, this one looking a lot more like the mobile game you’d been expecting. Along the top is an information bar with a gem icon and the number ten next to it, a timer next to that counting down from 24 hours, an internet signal connection meter, and the name Kitti.
You figure the gems are the game’s energy tokens, and they replenish every 24 hours, simple mobile game scam stuff, the premium option probably lets you buy more, whatever, you won’t be playing with this app for long enough to need more, you tell yourself.
The center of the screen shows the actual game itself, a menu box showing a basic-posed model of a woman, 5 blank dialogue boxes, and a dice icon. You decide it’s gotta be a dating sim, a bit of a shitty one, but still. The girl model is pretty; sort of short, wavy blonde hair, slim but with a bit of chub beneath her shirt and big boobs, and startling… emerald… eyes…
You blink in baffled confusion, it was Kitti, your Uber driver, the model was the spitting image of the woman sitting in the driver’s seat.
“What the hell…” You finally murmur the question that’s been on your mind the whole time. How could it know what she looks like? It hadn’t asked to use your camera, it doesn’t have cross-app access to Uber so it couldn’t access the files there. What is going on? You decide to investigate one more step and touch the dice icon.
A rudimentary rolling animation appears in the 5 dialogue boxes before each one shows a line of text, all of them sexual.
Remove top | Drive naked | Voyeurism | Tit fuck | Missionary sex
You revile at the app, disgusted at the options available and the lifelikeness of the model of Kitti. So it’s a pretend sex app to make fake porn of real women in your vicinity? Sure you’d been fantasizing about Kitti, but this is too much, it feels like an invasion of privacy. You go to close the app and delete it, but maybe it’s the flash of memory of Kitti’s cleavage that makes your fingers slip and tap one of the options.
Before you can close it, the app switches display and starts playing soft, thrumming music. The colors are less dazzling now, drifting down the screen in lazy patterns. You’re startled as you feel Kitti correct the car in a violent swerve, she’d been drifting out of the lane.
“Sorry,” She apologizes, her voice a little distant, “That’s pretty music, got a bit distracted.”
You look down at your app, there’s no way what you think is happening is happening. A final prompt has taken the place of the dialogue boxes, one word with a checkmark and an X beneath it, and a 5 second countdown.
Consent?
Which option did you tap?
