By claiming Anne's attitude

Anne is being really sour as you head to the shoe store. Probably because you had taken her girlfriend's mouth for yourself, but who's to say. Either way, you could tell that she's close to snapping at someone.

It feels like every time you use your power, you have to claim a bunch more to settle everyone down. You get behind Anne and whisper, "Anne, I claim your attitude. You are extremely happy to be with your girlfriend and me. So happy, that you don't care what I claim from the two of you." Anne immediately brightens up, excitedly chatting with Lucy about the clothes she just bought.

The shoe store has a rather large selection of everything from sneakers to stilettos, so the four of you split to do your shopping. You quickly find a new pair of canvas sneakers to replace your old ones and head towards the boot section.

You had always wanted a really nice pair of boots, your main 'all-weather' boots were knock-offs that have started falling apart. You just haven't been able to justify the price until now, but why pay when you can claim them for free?

You try on a few pairs to check their fit, and end up choosing a good selection. 2 pairs of leather ankle height boots, one black and one white, the aforementioned pair of sneakers, and a set of high heels find themselves stacked in their boxes as you try on one last pair. Black knee-high leather boots with a decently high platform. You have always been curious about them, and jealous of the women who wore them, but now they could be yours without any worry over the price tag.

Lucy approaches you as you take a few clumsy steps to find your balance. "Damn, girl, that's a lot of shoes!" Her voice drops to a whisper, "You aren't planning on paying for those, are you." You shake your head and she gives you the shoebox she was holding with a sly smile. "Well then I'll leave these with you, should be a good test to see how transfers work."

"You could at least help me bring everything up to the register..." You take off the boots and slip back into your old flats. Stacking the boxes in your arms, you make the perilous journey to the checkout. Taking a blind corner out of the aisles, you run into Anne, knocking her to the floor and sending the shoeboxes crashing down on her.

Anne sits there, stunned for a moment before breaking into laughter. "I'm so sorry Cleo! I should have been watching where I was going!" You know that she would be a lot less cheerful about getting knocked on her ass had you not overridden her attitude. "But owww, one of those boxes landed on me really hard." You helped her up, and the two of you gathered up the shoes.

The cashier is a young woman, a few years older than you. Perhaps in her final year of uni, or a recent grad. She's about a head taller than you, possibly even taller than Lucy. Her long brown hair is tied back in a professional-looking bun, and a pair of stylish glasses frame her green eyes. "Hi! Did you find everything ok?" She says as she begins scanning the boxes.

"Yeah, actually I'm claiming these shoes on the counter here." Anne gives you a nervous glance, as her attitude only makes her fine with you claiming things from her and Freddie. "Also, I claim your choice in footwear."

The cashier nods her head. "Certainly, let me just comp these to keep inventory correct. There. Is there anything else I can help with, do you need to use your footwear choice?"

"Yes, you may continue to wear whatever socks you like, but from now on you must alternate between platform boots and high heels, with a preference for height."

She nearly loses her customer service smile heading your change to her style. "That's going to be killer on my legs... But if that's what you want. I'm going to go put on a better pair then. You two have a good day." She walks off to pick out a pair of heels for herself.

Anne turns to you, happy to be with you, but also worried about the cashier that you just used your power on. "You know, I may be in a good enough mood to let claiming stuff from me slide, but you really shouldn't claim stuff from strangers. You didn't even get her name! She might be stuck wearing heels forever now."

You were about to respond with 'well that's her problem now' or similar, but luckily Freddie and Lucy were already outside waving you over. "Hey Mistress, babe! That's a lot of boxes. Should we run to the car and drop them off? I want to check out the game store before we leave."

"Yeah that's a good idea." You nod as you pass the shoes you claimed for Lucy to her.

"Why did you hand me your shoes?" The blonde asks, slightly confused.

"You picked them out for yourself. They're your shoes now." Apparently that was the right way to transfer ownership, as recognition dawns on Lucy's face.

"Cleo! Thanks for giving them to me!" She hugs you as well as she can around your shopping.

As you head back to the car, you're thinking about the next thing you are going to claim from your friends. Lucy seems a fine choice, you could swing whatever you claim as 'repayment' for the shoes. The other two won't have as much resistance from the group as a whole, but you're not sure what you would claim. You should check Lucy's suggestions list and see if anything speaks to you.
