Bri's Second Date

Mike was confused when Bri asked to meet him in an open field. His confusion only grew when he saw her.

"Hey bro, how's it going?" she asked.

"Good, I have so many questions," he said. Bri giggled and walked up to him.

"If you're wondering why I'm not dressed as a bimbo, I got Summer to cut me a break. She's very generous if you ask nicely and explain your plans," she said.

"I thought baseball players wore pants," said Mike. This made Bri blush.

"It was a compromise," she said. Mike laughed and gave his sister a hug. Once they pulled away, Mike looked down and saw he was now wearing a baseball jersey.

"Just to warn you, I'm not very good," he said.

"Don't worry about it. Things are about to get very interesting," she said. The field they were standing in shook and transformed into a massive baseball stadium.

But it wasn't a normal stadium. It almost looked like a cartoon.

"Let's a go," said the legendary hero himself, Mario. Bri stood next to the stunned Mike who was looking at the Super Mario cast in wonder.

"Pick your players."

Two outs, bottom of the 9th. Mario was on the mound, and Bowser was at the plate. Mike was standing on first, representing the winning run as King Boo was on second. Well, floating over first. Close enough.

Mario threw the ball, and it caught fire. Bowser, however, didn't have any issues with smacking it into the outfield. Mike took off running, knowing it wasn't a home run.

Bri was in the outfield, and ran down the ball. By the time she picked it up, Mike was already rounding third.

"No you don't," she said. She threw the ball with all her might, and it became encased in a golden light as it flew into the glove of the catcher, Donkey Kong.

But Mike wasn't going to give up. He charged forward, his body encased in energy. He slammed into the oversized monkey, and the two of them hit the ground. When DK looked up, the ball was gone.

"SAFE!" exclaimed the Lakitu that was the umpire. Mike's teammates ran over to him while cheering his name. Rosalina pushed her way to the middle and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

The others watched all this happen on a projection across the grounds, wondering the same thing.
